Politically speaking, since when did "fair and balanced" mean "biased towards Conservative viewpoints"?
As opposed to reporting fairly, and accurately on both sides?

Since right after Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes invented media bias.

Believe it or not, Fox may just be "fair and balanced", but I think since they don't lean left, crossing into pure socialism, it's "radically conservative" to most liberals.
Politically, there are moral absolutes. One "side" is correct, one side isn't. Fox does present both sides, but they lean "right" because it's, well, right. It's the morally and intellectually correct side to be on.
I don't understand why everyone acts like Fox is so terrible for being more conservative than NPR when there is MSNBC, CNN, etc... Fox and most of talk radio is conservative, the rest of media is VERY liberal... good night...
Ultimately, if you don't like it, don't watch it. That's the beauty of free press. You get to choose (isn't that what liberals are all about anyways?) what you do/watch/hear/see/etc...
add: And how can CNN call itself the "most trusted name in news"??? I do NOT trust CNN, so what about that?
add: Why did you give yourself a star??? :-O

The fair and balanced doctrine actually began when Fox News turned a profit.

It started many years ago when Bush Lamebrain convinced the conservative sheep that the media was controlled by liberals.
Once that ridiculous assumption was established it was a simple
extension of illogic to call a conservative mouthpiece "Fair and Balanced".
Its a bit like peeing on someones head and calling it rain.

I didn't start watching Fox News until a few months ago. If you don't think they are the most fair and balanced news channel then you are still blinded by the other media.
Of course Hannity is not. He is not Fox News. O'Reilly gets a bad rap. He does have "balanced" opinions on his show, he simply doesn't share their views. Now, turn to Olbermann and he will have the most despicable liberal bloggers and talking heads on his show and never, EVER, has an opposing view.
Fox news is very different from a talk show.

Lou Dobbs is on CNN and he is mad conservative...and the answer to your question is yes but all news outlets have a biased..i watch fox because its entertaining and it gives a glimpse of whats going on but is it the truth? most of the time it does fall short of the so called liberal outlets in terms of relevant news reporting .

I don't know of anyone that does report with bias towards the Conservative viewpoint. Where can I find that channel or newspaper? That is what I want and need to hear more about.
All I can find is the Obama media and I can't tolerate more of that.

Here's the proof that you're wrong. FOX News employs the following liberal commentators:
Greta Van Susteren
Bob Beckel
Geraldo Rivera
Alan Combs
Chris Wallace
Kirsten Powers
Juan Williams
I challenge you to name just one conservative commentator that has been hired by any liberal news outlet. Just one.

Fox is the most unfair and unbalanced news station.Yeah CNN is left wing.MSNBC is left wing BUT it has shows that are not that left wing, and disagree with some liberal view points.(Keith Olbermann,Rachel Maddow).
Fox will agree with any conservatives views.

I think Comedy Central is the most "fair and balanced" of all of them.
