So, I just bought a 1999 Infiniti G20...?
It has a little over 101k miles on it. I was wondering if anyone could give me clues to what kind of problems I should expect on the G20. I had the wheels realigned, the upholstery redone, put in a new sound system and installed an aftermarket alarm system in there too.
Anyone know of any major problems that I should be expecting? I would prefer answers from people who are or have been G20 owners. If you're just going to say "zomfg, Infiniti= $$$ to maintain, FAIL" please, be more specific. Any tips on maintenance would be helpful too. Thanks a lot.

Ok buddy. I can say I am well versed on nissans/infinitis. g20s are really great cars. Me and my brother work on our cars together often to increase HP and change cosemetic things. He owns a 2000 g20t and I own a 1993 Nissan Sentra Se-r. Your chasis code is p11 which is the later g20s. The earlier versions are p10s. They both have the sr20de motor in it. (The same motor as some of the models from 1991-2001 in the Nissan Sentra family. Which is why I know so much since my car has the same motor). This motor is one of Nissan's most powerful and dependable motor ever. They last for a long time as long as you don't overly abuse them. I have seen well over 200k driven on them, so your 101k is nothing. My bro has 139k on his and I have 149k on mine.
Maintenance wise, Infinitis are pretty good. My bro has only had minor things that normally would have to be changed on any car. Make sure to conduct a visual inspection along with a full tune-up so you know that it's all good (Include: spark plugs NGK brand, spark plug wires OEM NISSAN brand, pvc valve, oil change, distributor & cap and any other hoses or belts that may be worn)
Below in my sources, I left a link to G20.net. This is the most extensive database of g20 owners and technical information for your car. I am part of this forum along with a few other Nissan/Infiniti ones. You can learn lots of info on there including what to do when certain things happen. I'm sure this helped.

I work at Infiniti parts and the only thing I see we sell a lot of is the motor mounts and power steering hoses.
