Ported Sub Box, Vent direction?

Im about to build a custom box for my JBL Monster, the P1224, right now i have a sealed box thats to slow. anyhow, im wondering what difference if any will it make if i point the sub in one direction and the port another. Here is what im planning..

Ported box to specs, but the face (woofer side) pointg towards back of trunk. The box face will have a main plate covered with carpet to make one big pannel that will make the trunk look smaller, so basically with that in mind, the front of the truck (behind teh box) will be compleatly seperate from the front.. so like 2 trunks lol.. anyhow, the port will be pointing into this chamber.. what kind of difference if any will this make, being that most of the port, and its flow of air will be coming through the back dash..

What difference at all would this make, or is it best ot have the port empty into the truck withthe sub as well?

IM tring ot boost my bass, as well as the overall sound of the upper band low freq.

Update:

yes its in a ford Taurus, I have a sealed box now, kinda under specs, but when i face it towards the front of the car, i really dont hear a difference, it does seam the overall sound is a little bit less.. but im not sure..

So what if i did the same design minus the plate to make the truck two seperate sections.. like just the box in one big truck with teh port facing the front of the car, and sub back, or sub back port up.. would the direction and location of the port towards the fornt of the car or back dash provide any increase in sound, fq or anything?

Im guessing this is a trunk car. I dont suggest sealing off either side of the box as this will create an unbalanced fourth order bandpass....

Just do port back, sub back, or port back and sub up. Some cars will sound louder with port forward and sub forward while others the other way around. Just make sure you have enough port area, tune low for music (30 - 34 hz), or high for SPL (38-40).

audio device will sound greater desirable or worse counting on the counseled cubic ft of enclosure according to speaker, and the size container you have. having a slant fronted container is scaling down on the quantity air the audio device can pass internally subsequently choking the speaker. in case you get a container it fairly is a splash greater desirable and not slanted interior the front they'll drop harderand tighter. in case you elect crisp base i'm hoping you recognize to no longer pass band bypass container.
