Why am I so defensive because people are so greedy?
I am smart enough to know that people are too busy with their own lives to realize what a mess they are making of my life. However, I am not intelligent enough to find a solution. I don't expect an answer, I am no more right than anyone else. I am not looking for sympathy, but I am incapable of not hoping for it. Just be careful not to read more into it than there is; a person disgusted with the necessities of survival.

one thing you could do is lower your expectations of others.
another thing is since you can't make other people change, you can change your own reaction to those knuckleheads.

You're clinging to self-worth. When you cling to self-worth, there is fear when someone tries to cause the self harm.
