Mysterious & Strange Cat Man?

So, I posted this add for my cat on craigslist and one day received an e-mail from a guy that was interested. I thought the messages he sent me seemed a bit strange becuase he used words like "highly interested in adopting your pet to my good home", "I lost my pet on the way to the vet clinic a few days ago", and "I would like to adopt your pet to reduce tragedy in my mind." I thought it was strange that a person talked like that and I just ignored that and sent them more info on the cat and they replied with an e-mail titled in caps "URGENT REPLY IS NEEDED" basically that e-mail said they were interested in the cat but, near the end weirded me out when he said "give me your full name, address, and phone number, regard the pick up i have contacted the reliable movers company that will handle the pick from your door step to my home without no problem." Is it just me or does that sound weird? I'm not sure if I should give this person my cat. Tell me what you think.

Update:

I think hes a killer of some kind

Update 2:

I just found out that he sent the same message to another woman but told her his pet dog died when he told me his pet cat died!!!!!!!

No, definitely do not give your cat to this person!! Something definitely seems fishy to me. Some people make money by collecting pets being given away for free, then sell them to laboratories that do testing on live animals. To prevent this from happening to your kitty, modify your ad and say something like, "I am requesting a small rehoming fee of $20" or something like that. Animal collectors will not be interested in any animal they have to pay money to get. If you are really concerned about this person, you can also report him to craigslist and describe the interaction you've had with him, as well as sending them a copy of the messages you have received. They may not do anything, but they may also have some sort of policy that they can use to cancel his account and prevent him from abusing craigslist in that manner.

If you are having trouble finding a home for kitty, you can also take him to a no-kill animal shelter, who will take good care of him, and you will rest assured that he will end up in a good home, as these sorts of groups are always specific and strict about the types of homes their animals go to. If you are having trouble finding groups in your area, you can also use the petfinder.com website to locate some. It is a database that links animal shelters and rescue groups from all over the country who have animals available for adoption, and people usually use this website to search for a new pet. You can do a search there as if you are looking for a new pet, and it will come up with a list of animals in your area, but also will have listed the names of the shelters and/or groups these animals are located at. Usually these sort of groups have an individual web page within the petfinder site, where you can find info on how to contact them and where they are located.

Good luck, I hope this helps. =^.^=

That definitely sounds weird and I would recommend you not give your cat to this person! If you're having a hard time finding a home for your cat with someone you know and trust Petsmart does cat adoptions and pre-screen the applicants.

He's not a killer, but a scammer. They're very common on that site, and respond to any ad that way. They're trying to scam you into giving them something for free. Had you been selling a camera, or a DVD they would have responded in the same way. Don't ever talk to those people! They're scam artists. They usually give an address from India or something.

The language and content sound like a scam email message such as those about lottery winnings or bank accounts with lots of money and the person wants your help to get it out of the country.

This person's first language is definitely not English. It is worded much like what you see in Nigerian email scams.

That he asked for so much information about you rings an alarm bell with me - and the way he worded the request alarms me for its similarity with email scams.

    Just ignore him.

I don't think he is a killer but he is certainly up to something.

Sounds like one of the many people who surf craigslist looking for free, cheap or unwanted animals so they can sell them to laboratories or use them as bait animals for dogs. NEVER GIVE AWAY YOUR ANIMAL TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW. Especially on craigslist. Always charge a rehoming fee of at least $50. Those people can't afford anything as high as that. Trust me. If you care what happens to the animal after it leaves your house, don't do it.

That is DEFINITELY weird; that he would hire a mover? He's probably not even in your location. Trust your gut and don't contact this guy any more; block his emails and forget he ever messaged you, because he's darn creepy.

DO NOT give your cat to this man. He sounds crazy. Please, do not. Promise me you won't. He sounds like a real weirdo. Your cat deserves a good normal home with loving people. Please tell this guy you've found someone else to adopt your cat.
