I have a compaq presario CQ60-210US...?

Notebook PC, AMD Athalon x 2 64 processor. The notebook was dropped, and now it will only power up to the point where it gives me start up options (i.e. start up messages, Syst. Info, boot order Syst. recovery, etc the only one that responds is F1 Start up messages but just says "please wait" and will not go any further. I can't get Bios up to change the boot order (if it needs to be, not sure). It's running Vista. Also it will only shut down if I unplug it. I also tried to install another OS which makes boot order suspect.

any help,suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Update:

I can take it apart as a last resort.

how confidence are you taking it apart? otherwise take it to someone, if they can't fix it then don't pay.

you probably have a loose connection, harddrive, dvd drive, something somewhere.
