You'll get a 100 dollar fine which you can probably work off doing community service if you don't have the funds to pay it.
First offense doesn't go onto your record, California has decriminalized marijuana and first time offenders are cut some slack. That's the good news. Bad news is sorry to say you stand a good chance of getting your driver's license suspended...probably for 90 days. Under the law it can be up to a year.
Keep in mind suspension of your driver's license isn't mandatory, if you have a job the court might only place a restriction on it. You'll be allowed to drive to work and back and whatever is deemed necessary by the judge for school related activities.
Not a big deal. In the future I'd be more careful.

Chances are that you can kiss your license good bye at least until 18, maybe 21. Even if you weren't driving. You're going to be hit with a fine and possibly some probation with some additional fees.
If you want your life back to normal, ditch the kids you hang with and stop drinking and smoking weed. If you need Cannabis for a medical issue, get a Medical License.
I'm all for ending prohibition but when kids get busted for its use it makes the cause counter productive. Get through high school with decent grades and there will be enough bud in college and chances are by then, prohibition will have ended.

"Can i keep my license by doing a diversion program?"
- Doing the program and gaining from it are two different things.
"What are somethings i need to know(this is my first offense) and what should i do to ensure my life can return to normal soon!!"
- Congratulations, you now have a criminal record and have immediately lost out on hundreds of excellent government jobs. You are narrowing you future. Stop the damn weed, and focus on how you can honestly counter this question in a job interview. Many will deny this, but it will effect you future from this day forward. Many will say who cares, its irrelevant. It is irrelevant only if you choose the path of mediocrity. Excellence was just made more difficult for you but you can still overcome this obstacle.

According to NORML any conviction of minor under 21 causes driver's license suspension for 1 year.

ask for forgiveness. and i suggest you go to all possible programs available, the laws get strict when it comes to minors and drugs let alone alcohol.
