What decides what we like? Is there a certain spot in the brain or something like that?

For example why do I like a color that someone else hates? or an activity, anything. Is this transmitted thru genes (sometimes happens that parents and children have similar taste), is there an impulse, is it because the first time we saw that thing, or did a thing we felt pleasure?

A silly misconception that we refer to as judgment.

It is a learned limitation that robs us of the true beauty of life.

I think there are pleasure centres in the brain, but I'm no neuroscientist so I'm not sure how they're activated! This question could lead to so many different debates...nature vs. nurture, subjectivity vs. objectivity etc. To be honest I don't think anyone knows.

What decided to ask this question? Was it a spot in your brain or was it simply YOU, the spirit in the machine?
