As a nurse, I'd feel wrong in telling you "it's nothing" like most people will, because I don't know that for sure. But keep in mind that no matter what it is, the majority of childhood diseases (even cancers) are treated successfully these days. Medical advances have come so very far! Best of luck!

Well, first off try to stay calm. You also have lymph nodes in the side of your neck and I do believe if they become swollen enough are removed. Did they voice their concern that the lump might be cancer?
I had a friend who had a lump on the side of his neck, kind of behind his ear, they removed it and he recovered. He did NOT have cancer. Right now the best thing you can do for your little guy is to not worry. Just keep reminding yourself, the tests are regulatory to confirm nothing is wrong.

The dr can't give you an answer until he sees the test results. We all worry and think the worst but try not to get too upset as worry will not help either of you.Remember GOD is just a word away, talk with HIM.

It is probably not cancer.
In children, most neck lumps are caused by treatable infections.
Try not to worry to much
Whatever is it, he'll be fine.
