Why was Gas Light Square wiped out?
I DON'T WANT REASONS SUCH AS IT SUCKED.
I need logical reasons such as financial problems or rampent crime.

The surrounding neighborhood was not good. After a number of years, people were tired of going to the bars there and found other areas of the city and county that they preferred. Places closed for financial reasons.

It lost a lot of it's luster of the years, even though they had some of the top performers, such as Ike and Tina Turner, etc.
The surrounding areas also got to be bad and places started closing do to crime.
When it was totally wiped out, supposedly the area sat for many years until they started redeveloping it for town houses.

Their was a lot of prostitution and crime in the area surronding Gas Light Square. It got to the point where people did not feel safe and stopped going.
