heater/AC keeps blowing fuses?
Got an 04 Dodge SRT-4. It has been in storage for 7 months. Of coarse the battery was dead so i took it out and threw it on a charger. When I installed it a heard a few poofing sounds. The heater/ac would not work. It keeps blowing fuses.
Any ideas what is causing this? I'm thinking I may have a short somewhere but have no idea how to troubleshoot it and track it down.
Thank you

Your car has some type of electrical problem. Take it to a mechanic. Inexperience and electricity dont mix.

Wildmann... is probably right: either the blower motor or the A/C compressor may be frozen. Chances are the A/C is belt driven so the blower motor is the likely issue. Either take it apart like he says and give it a manual spin or you can try just banging on it with a wrench or light hammer...that may be enough to jar it loose. Amazing but true! I had a similar issue with my hot tub pump motor recently...took it off the pump, disconnected the power, gave it a slight spin, put it all back together and poof it works :-) Good luck!

Something in that circuit is shorted if that one curcuit keeps blowing fuses. If you have no idea about troubleshooting, you might actually save time and trouble getting the car fixed at the dealer, instead of taking things apart and hoping replacements work.

un plug the blower motor from the harness, install a new fuse , and try again..probably a nest in the swirl case. If the fuse does not pop ..remove the blower motor and clean it out

After sitting around for that long the blower motor probably stuck. If you can find out how to unbolt it the shaft probably needs a manual spin to free it up.

Well try thi first. Unplug the blower and try running it stright to the battery. If it is ok then unplug the motor and turn on the controll. If it still blows then the controll is defective.
