Where can I find the best deal to fly from Ft. Lauderdale (FL) to Boston (MA) in late august?

I've been looking at cheaptickets.com and cheapoair.com and all I've found are flights for 105 total but I would have to pay extra for my checked bags (I'm moving to college, so I'm taking a lot of stuff). So far the only other reasonable option I've found is through Southwest since they cost around the same but don't charge extra for the first 2 checked bags...

Could you tell me any better deals, if any, which you have found from previous experience?

I really appreciate it! THANKS :)

Hi, we always use Airtran.com and they also have great service.

I checked August 25 and 26 for you and LOTS of flights those days for $64. That would be a Tuesday and Wednesday. Usually cheaper to fly those days. Mon, Fri and Sat are $79 for that week.

They now charge $15 for first checked bag, $25 for second. Of course you can have carry-ons in addition. Not sure how many bags you are planning on taking, and know that there is a limit on all airlines as to weight of a bag up to 50lbs usually. After that they charge fees for excess weight.

So, take all that into consideration when looking for the best price. All have different fees now. Really sucks they charge for baggage now on all flights!

Good luck and here is the link for Airtran's baggage page:

Oh, and if you have never flown Southwest, you may want to read this article, cause it's very frustrating how they do seating. Fiance did once and never ever again!

Good luck to you oh and yeah, you can always ship your stuff ahead of you too.

Asian Americans consist of 5% of the American Population, or 15 million people. They are generally more concentrated around urban areas. You probably have some decent chances.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Here is a hint, schedule the plane for just yourself and what going to need for couple days, then have the rest shipped up via motor carrier.

I ride long distance on my Harley, and this is way I do it.
