  • How do I care for my new and swollen snug piercing?

This is my first piercing and it is a tad swollen, there's barely any room within the piece and I'm getting a little freaked out. Also, the piercer advised to move it "in and out while I clean it," however, every single website about piercings that I've found advises otherwise and states that you shouldn't change the piece until at least 12 months, while my piercer said 4 weeks!

How do I address the swelling? and until when is swelling considered normal? I've heard of people's snugs swelling up after 4 weeks! I'm afraid he might have put a bar that is too short or that I'm having some sort of reaction to the steel.

    Thanks!

  • Bright red carpet, orange futon... yellow dresser?

Hi! I'm purchasing a white, antique-y looking dresser from craigslist and am having a hard time choosing what color to paint it, and thus I would love some color suggestions :)

So far I've thought of bright yellow, purple and blue. Any other suggestions would be awesome. (My walls are white and I have yet to purchase a comforter.. pretty much the dresser is the only furniture in my room).

    Thanks!!

I was hoping to purchase something that isn't incredibly expensive/stealable and that is light (I will have to carry it a lot!). I'm a pretty tall gal' (6'), so if you know of any brands that can accommodate my height all the better.

I have 0 knowledge so any enlightenment you might provide will be AWESOME. Thank you very very much in advance :)

  • Through which method/place (carmax, enterprise) have you been able to get the most money out of your used car?

I have a 2008 Honda Fit Sport with little less than 9K miles that I need to sell to help pay for my college expenses... it's got just one scratch but other than that it's in perfect condition. Does carmax make good offers? enterprise? should I try to sell it myself? I only have a month until I move.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Is it worth it to have a Vespa/Scooter in Boston?

I'm moving there soon, and it seems like a fun way to go from place to place. Any input or other scooter suggestions (I love the vintage feel, so it should have that) is really appreciated :)

  • Where can I find "cheap" supplies to make leather bracelets (braided, engraved, etc.)?

All I seem to find is 1/8th wide brown suede.. I am looking for varying widths and colors. If you can suggest, also, a bit of a beginners shopping list I'd greatly appreciate it!

    Thank you :)

  • Will I really need a footlocker/trunk in college?

I'm the first one in my family to go to a US University, but most importantly, to live in a freshman dorm. My dad insists on buying what I consider to be a gigantic trunk for my very small dorm... I don't know if it's really worth the 100 bucks.

Any input? I really appreciate it, thank you :)

  • Where can I find the best deal to fly from Ft. Lauderdale (FL) to Boston (MA) in late august?

I've been looking at cheaptickets.com and cheapoair.com and all I've found are flights for 105 total but I would have to pay extra for my checked bags (I'm moving to college, so I'm taking a lot of stuff). So far the only other reasonable option I've found is through Southwest since they cost around the same but don't charge extra for the first 2 checked bags...

Could you tell me any better deals, if any, which you have found from previous experience?

I really appreciate it! THANKS :)

  • How can I start an "online bakery"?

Hi everyone :) I was wondering if any of you with online businesses could help me create a website where I can sell pastries. I already have a bunch of "customers" that love them, and are willing to provide reviews for them... I just want to get my business bigger (as in the suburb I live in), at least for the summer.

I'm 18 and I have no social security number because I'm an immigrant (legal). My parents would be willing to help me with anything that requires a social so that shouldn't be a problem, I just want some easy steps you think I should follow to open this.

    Thank you!!!

  • Will I be able to install the soon to be released Windows 7 on my NEW laptop?

Hi, I recently (hasn't even shipped yet) purchased a Dell Studio XPS 16 that is maxed out on everything (2.96 Processor, 8GB, etc)... but it comes with Vista, and I heard that Windows 7 is likely to be released during the fall.

Will I be able to replace Vista for the new version when it comes out for free? Considering that I only purchased Vista this week and Vista is known to have a lot of problems. Has anyone been in a similar situation with Microsoft before?

And what about Office 2010? Which is coming out on January?

Well thank you all! This is really bothering me!

  • What kind of shoes should I wear for prom?

Hey! this is the dress I'm considering

    http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/inde...

And well, as you can see that it is quite pricey I would like to find some not-so-expensive shoes... however, I have a bit of a height issue (I'm 6' tall) and I will be going with a bunch of friends who are all 4 inches or shorter than me... I mean, if it was up to me I'd wear chucks, but I don't want to take away from the dress :)

Well, recommendations/suggestions welcome!! and thank you all in advance! :)

  • What review book should I get for AP Microeconomics?

I was thinking about purchasing the one from princeton review, but I got their AP Calculus review book and it's really a horrible book... so I'd rather just avoid them. It seems to me like they elaborate on the easiest concepts and leave the hardest one for you to figure out. Anyways, I've been looking through various questions and I've found that lots of people recommend either princeton's, barron's or 5 steps to a 5. What I'm looking for is lots of practice to refresh my memory, I find microeconomics to be quite easy, actually... I just need, as I said, to remember certain concepts.

So which book do you recommend?

Thank you very much! I'd really appreciate it if besides naming the book you could tell me what you liked about it :)

  • Is the rumour about apple lowering its prices true?

I've heard a bunch of people commenting that because of the crisis, apple will be lowering its prices sometime during the following months.

I'm particularly worried because I was planning to purchase a 17-inch macbook pro for college, and given the nearly 3000 price tag, I need to know whether I should wait for this "price lowering" or just buy it now.

Have you heard anything? Do you think it's possible?

Thank you all for your input! :)

  • How can I tie dye my bedsheets without the color turning out pale?

Hi, I would like to tie dye a set of bed sheets with the usual colors in a cool pattern.. I have already tried to tie dye a shirt before, and the colors turned out very pale... so I'd like to know how can I get my bed sheets to look like the traditional tie dye, instead of pale.

    Thank you!!

  • Nvidia wise, what's the best graphic card for AutoCad Architecture?

I'm getting a new laptop soon, and I've got to decide between the Quadro and the GeForce 9600. I'm going to be a freshman in college and I'll need to run Autocad Architecture and Adobe Creative Suite... so not necessarily top notch, the one with the best value.

    Thank you!

  • Does adobe creative suite and/or autocad work better on a macbook pro or on a high-end PC laptop?

Hi everyone, I'm having a bit of a debate with my dad in regards to my future laptop. Long story short, he's a hardcore PC fan while I've had so much bad luck with PCs that I can't wait to switch to Mac... however, he's the one doing the purchase so I have to convince him.

Since I'll be a freshman in college for Architecture next year, I'm going to need a laptop that can run adobe creative suite and autocad (University's recommendation) without constantly crashing and quickly...

    Basically the options are:

17-inch Macbook pro with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz processor and 9600 Nvidia GT

Lenovo ThinkPad W700 with Intel Core Extreme 2.53GHz processor and Nvidia Quadro 3700M

    or an HP...

The University recommends a basic 15.4 inch macbook pro... but well my dad obviously wants to go all or nothing.

    HELP!

Thanks in advance.. a lot lot lot of thanks in advance :)
