Will my lisence get suspended?

I'm 17, and last night I just got my first speeding ticket - unfortunately I was stupidly going fast enough that the officer felt the need to immediately issue a 200 dollar citation.

I'm supposed to mail in the citation and plead guilty or not guilty, I'm obviously planning to plead guilty, and expecting to acquire points on my license.

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea if my license will be suspended, and for how long? Thanks in advance.

Update:

No, there was no probationary period. The only time the officer mentioned suspension is if I fail to mail in the citation with my plea.

If it helps, the state is PA.

Update 2:

I should probably take this time to explain, that I was 'excessively speeding'.

As in, 96 in a 55.

Update 3:

I also forgot to add that I DID take a def. driving course - of course that was while I still had my permit.

I think I'm going to take another course.

I've had 7 tickets in the last 3 years.. And been pulled over 11 times total.. I have NO tickets on my record at all.. If you can, take deffensive drving.. You're supposed to only be able to take it once a year, but if you know the judge (I live in a small town) then they will take exceptions... BUT, no.. You should be fine if you just pay the ticket and get a point.. Don't get more than three or you will have it suspended..

I STRONGLY suggest you take def. driving.. It keeps your insurance down and it won't go on your record..

Not enough info. How fast over the limit? Do you have a probationary period in your state?

If you can mail it in, thats a good sign, you MIGHT be OK. Otherwise they would make you show up at court.

When you got your license, were you given a probation period?
