Any suggestions on improving my photography?

I've recently started out, and photography is becoming a liking of mine. I'm asking for some insight on how I could generally improve my photography. Keep in mind that I do not edit my photos nor do I have a a digital SLR.

There are so many great pictures, almost all of them are interesting in some way. If/when you get a DSLR you will be able to get even more creative with your shots.

You're not one of the typical "are my pics good?" post. You take more than just snapshots.

One improvement would be try taking multiple angles of the same thing and decide later which looks best.

The first few aren't photography..But more of snapshots of family. The picture where you say you "look like a fish" would be excellent if there was nobody standing in it. (Not that YOU make the pciture bad. But I think it would just be better empty)

I found some irony. I just interviewed with my local dry cleaner for a job. And I shoot Nikon DLS'rs haha. people in the same boat. makes me laugh

Buy a Photography FOR DUMMIES book- great, easy to understand info. Obviously, you need to save for a SLR. Also, lighting is key.

Have fun with it- I am also getting into it. I love Canon equipment and I avoid Nikon. I also am into HD Video. I bought a High Def Canon HV30 last month and the video is incredible. Editing that however I am learning is challenging.

    I'm interested in photography too,

planning to study art and all that :)

I liked one tip Linda Eastman gave, as a professional photographer, and my idol that she gave, "Follow your instincts... when you look through make sure is the picture you want..."

Just keep it simple, don't crop images.

Anyway, I liked your pictures :)

I thought the first few were okay... but it got boring looking over the same angle again and again.

Try to take the shot differently, otherwise they look really neat!

Also for the shot angle, try to just not take them straightforward. I didn't look at them all, but almost all are like that.
