No, there is not one single chance in hell that Lucas will make more movies and he will not allow anyone else to make more movies even after he is dead ... he's put a special provision in his Will about it so no matter how much we would like to see more the truth is that there will NOT be anymore Star Wars movies.

When he first came up with the idea for Star Wars Lucas originally had 12 episodes planned. He cut that down to 9 with the first trilogy to be about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker, the second trilogy to be about the rise of Luke Skywalker and the redemption of Anakin Skywalker, the third trilogy was to be about the "other Skywalker" that Yoda mentions in ep V. Simple truth is that the 6 movie saga we have right now bares very, very, very, VERY little resemblance to what Lucas started out with. In the beginning Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader were two different characters ... Luke and Leia were not twins ... Leia was not even the "other Skywalker". This all changed when Lucas was writing the script for ep V. The first working title for that episode was "2 of 12" ... that proves that there were originally 12 episodes but I digress. One of the biggest ironies about Lucas is that while he may actually be one of the greatest storytellers in the history of film he is also pretty much the worst writer of dialog in the history of film ... the two things are definitely not the same. For ep V he hired Leigh Brackett & Lawrence Kasdan to adapt his story line into a script. It was those two who first tossed out the idea of combining the characters of Anakin and Vader into one. Lucas liked the idea and they ran with it. That one change sent the story off in a totally new direction. I've always wondered what ep VI would have been like if Brackett had been alive to once again work with Kasdan on the script for ep VI ... sadly she died before that could happen. From this point on Lucas was forced to take bits and pieces from his original story idea and change them to fit the new direction the story was going in. If only Lucas had the balls to tell the truth of this but in true Lucas fashion he denies the truth and says that ep 7 - 9 never existed and that it was just something made up by the fans ... not only is he lying he's insulting all the loyal fans he has made over the years. Anyways ... when he and Kasdan were working on the script for ep VI they got stumped on what they could have Vader say to Luke that would cause him to attack his father in a dark side fueled rage. They solved that problem by making Leia the "other Skywalker" and having Vader threaten her. Making that change eliminated the third trilogy ... end of story.

Someone else mentioned all the books that comprise the Star Wars EU and asks why movies couldn't be made from them. Well ... they could but that would be the opposite of what happened for the other 6 movies ... one of the unique things about Star Wars is that the movies were NOT made from books ... the books were written about the movies. Also, Lucas has not and will not give the tag of ep 7 - 9 to any of the book series ... Lucas has given the Thrawn Trilogy the tag of "official continuation of the Story" but it is not ep 7 - 9 as they don't exist anymore. Even if Lucas was to think about using some of the books as ep 7 - 9, in that respect the Thrawn Trilogy would be awesome for that, he would face a major problem that would be a deal breaker ... he would have to re-cast the roles of the Big 3 of Han, Luke, & Leia and that would cause a fan outrage the likes of which would be epic in scale ... it just wouldn't work.

The future of Star Wars is in animated work. The Clone Wars series on the Cartoon Network was the highest rated show in the history of the Cartoon Network so there is no doubt that there will be more to it ... in fact almost all the episodes for season two are "in the can" at this moment. The story line for the third season is about half done. Lucas is also working on a live action TV show that will be set in between ep III and ep IV. It will NOT feature any of the popular characters like Vader and Palpatine ... they will be mentioned but not seen ... rumors abound that Boba Fett will have a decent sized part in it but that has not been confirmed by Lucas or anyone else for that matter. This TV show will focus on the minor characters of the saga, tell how the Rebel Alliance was founded and chronicle their early battles against the Empire leading up to the events of ep IV. The target date for this show is fall of 2010.

There is a bit of great news on the movie front though ... Lucas has confirmed that they are working on turning all 6 movies into a a true 3-D format and releasing them back to theaters in that form ... target date is summer of 2012.

Yes it will be. I am a really big Star Wars fan and love Star Wars. Anyway now when the six movies are done George Lucas has decided to make episode 7-9, the first one will be done about 2020. The reason George want to wait 15 years is because it was about 15 years between episode 6 and 1. While we wait on episode 7 there will be some new Star Wars TV-series. And if 7-9 are successful they will maybe do 10-12. And George gonna let the work on the new Star Wars movies to a guy called SuperShadow. And, yes I really want Star Wars to be forever and I don't want it to end.

Officially No, he said he wasnt making any more movies. But then the clone war movie and series came out, plus making a live action star wars series.

I would say you never know, right now, no there isnt one in the works, but that could change in the future.

Officially the answer is no,but I think its probable that more movies will be made, as they make so much money.

Although I do think it would be difficult because the books acount for a lot of the timeline.

However I dont see why they cant just mave movies of the books that are considered most popular.

    No

That's why he said when The Revenge of the Sith came out he wouldn't make anymore Star Wars movies.

He will most likely produce another film but he won't be a large part of it. I don't see why you would want more...All the original cast are in geriatrics. It wouldn't be the same. Somethings just left to imagination are best, In my opinion.
