If my apartment has a cheap shower, am I ethically obligated to turn it off while shaving my legs?

The shower in our apartment doesn't seem to have any way to turn the water down to a trickle so I can shave. The only way to turn the water off is to use the taps. This is just a real pain, and it takes a while for me to get the temperature right (two separate taps). I'm tempted to just leave the water on while I shave.

I tend to be fairly quick, and I'm thinking that the added convenience of not having to essentially take two showers balances the fact that I am saving a bit of water (not a lot of it, because I still need to turn the tap on every now and then while I'm shaving, because I don't have that proper trickle.

i would leave it on ..it still takes a fair amount of water to get the temp right and how do you clean the shave head off ....turn it on and off.

just leave it on...you aren't taking that much longer of water usage

depending on who owns the ater bill. if you pay for the water then you can use as much as you like.

if the landlord does when then it is an ethics question. bare in mind that you probably pay more than you should in rent anyway. also you would want to consider if there are any other room mates that may not some hot water.

I would just use the water. you are not saving that much and it really isn't that big of a deal unless you have a couple roommates that need the hot water.

maybe you could try to save water (or at least some) into a water pail... so it can be used for some purpose than waste it..
