When Guiding Light is off what will you do?
I know I will miss GL. I tape it everyday and I will greatly miss it.
Do you know what is going to replace it in your area?
What will you watch instead?
I thought about taping ATWT but I don't know what I will do with that free hour and wondered what others were thinking

I've grown up watching GL, and its cancellation is a major blow to me. I was at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta when I saw on CNN that GL was ending this September. I'll always remember that broadcast. A lot of my childhood revolved around the CBS Soaps, and I really don't know how I am going to manage losing a part of me. That cast has been like family, and I don't want to lose that.
I don't know what is going to replace it, but I have heard rumors that CBS wants to resurrect the Newlywed Game or the Pyramid Game for that hour. I don't get it...how are those stupid game shows supposed to get good ratings? Well, with school-I don't get to sit down and watch GL each day. However, during the summer, I might try out General Hospital. If Martha Byrne (ex-Lily, ATWT) continues on that soap and becomes a key player, I might try to get into it. However, I don't know if I can try to replace GL with another soap...it won't ever happen.
Please tape ATWT! I'm a very devoted fan to that show, and it is similar to GL. While GL's cancellation is hard for me, ATWT's would have been devastating and much worse (for me). I think you would like it; plus, I've heard some GL characters may be making the switch to Oakdale!

Where I am, Guiding Light and General Hospital both come on at three. I usually watch Guiding Light during the day, while taping General Hospital to watch at night. I'll probably just watch other TV. Where I am, a game show is going to replace it from our local station here in East Tennessee.

I will be very sad. When the Rhode Island station went digital in February, I was unable to catch it at 3. I was still working so I could not watch the Boston station at 9. I started watching GH and other shows. I really will be in mourning for a while after September 18.

It does not scare me it might scare the cleansing soap human beings although. I watch each and every of the ABC soaps and that i pass via sessions the place i actually hate it. If the followers are not chuffed then there must be reason to rigidity. a on an analogous time as back there have been rumors of AMC and GH in all threat going off the air yet i think of that replaced into overvalued so as that the drifting followers could watch lower back.

After ATWT I will switch to another network. I don't even want to see what foolishness they put in GL's place. Perhaps HGTV will become part of the routine.

I am actually attending the Paley Center for Broadcasting tribute to the show on August 19 and I will be going to the show's final fan club luncheon on Oct. 10.

They will probably replace it with some dumb a** realty show or move Ellen in GL time slot than make local news longer.

I'll cry even if I haven't been watching. I remember some great moments from that show. They'll probably replace it with a court show or a talkshow.
