I had an old e-machines..?

Yes I know that they are junk. Well the problem is I have 87 Kodak Albums on the E-machines and I recently got a HP. I can't even get into the E-machines because once I log on, everything from the desktop disappears. Does anyone have any suggestions how to and if I can safely get my pics off that computer and into the new one? Thanks everyone.

The easiest way (it may not sound easy, but it is) is to remove the hard drive. Then buy a hard drive adapter kit (they're cheap) that connects to USB. Plug the hard drive into your new computer, and you should be able to access all of its files as if it is an external hard drive. Since you won't actually be booting from it, you shouldn't run into any problems that you may have had, but you can still browse and copy files off of it.

Remove the hard drive, buy an enclosure for hard drive or buy IDE/SATA to USB converter. then connect it to a working computer through USB. In that way you can have the access to retrieve all those old files you want in that hard drive.

Try logging on in safe mode. I think you press the F8 as you are booting up. If that fails, I would take it to a repair man and have them help you get it on long enough to save your pics. Good luck.
