Why is it some places allow monopolistic organizations to keep on going?
One hospital in our town has taken over every thing, even our local YMCA- with no room for poor people in their membership. The Y used to be a Christian charitable group who gave everyone a chance to be members. no one in the legal world here wants to even look at this. They have cornered the market on health care and on employment. They also own all the outlying satellite clinics and nursing homes. How do you go about fighting a machine like this?

Its the same thing here. The local hospital controls all health care. The city passed an ordinance to allow them to do it. Apparently the city has the authority to allow this. They claim it leads to better health care. I believe it hurts the growth possibilities of a city not to have free choice in health care. Consequently the medical system here is very political and dysfunctional. They wonder why they cant keep good doctors.
