Liberals will tell you it is inhumane and cruel to fight a helpless and defenseless dog. However, they will also tell you throwing live babies into dirty linen closets UNTIL DEAD IS NOT. They will tell you, Bush war is murder, Obama war is OK. LIBERALS HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY STAND FOR EXCEPT ANYTHING FREE IS ok

It's a good libertarian argument. But like other vices it is controlled for the sake of society as a whole.

These operations are often saturated with a clientele of questionable ethics. The hyper-competitiveness that is a part of the "sport" not only offends people, but people find it repulsive.

The blood lust of a combat contest where the loser is terminated (even if it is a beast), is simply too primitive to be condoned by a civil society. This is relevant difference when comparing it to racing the animals.

comparing dog fighting to working an animal is off base. I'm not a crazed PeTA member, a "meat is murder" vegetarian, or an animal's rights wacko...I'm a sportsman, I hunt and fish. Fact of the matter is, dog fighting does nothing but cause harm to all dogs involved, and often the loser is mercilessly killed. Even though the dog is considered your property, you as the owner are expected to care for it and treat it HUMANELY. Dog fighting is cruel and senseless "sport". I think that when dog fighters are arrested, they should be punished by a thunder dome type justice...2 men enter, 1 man leave. Oh, and if the loser is still alive, slam his body against the concrete til he's dead...that'd be fitting.

The dogs are made to suffer for no good reason. It's like asking why setting cats on fire is illegal.

If the choice was whether you would set a cat on fire or a human, only wacko environmentalists would choose the latter. So if the choice is whether a dog or a human has to risk it's life, of course the dog is the one.

But if the choice is between seriously hurting some animals or being bored, of course the latter must be the one.

There dogs for god sakes. There guy's suited chum. How would desire to somebody tension what would have been a shy yet friendly bit-pull and turn it right into a vicious killing device. Its disgusting ! it relatively is why its unlawful.

Yes, dogs/animals are put to work.. and some can be dangerous. but they are not put to work JUST TO DIE. All these owners like then police do not want the animal to die.
