Bark Busters Dog Training any info?
I have a 8month old GSD and I'm having a few problems which I want to deal with sooner rather than later.
I have searched the Internet and have found Bark Busters training who come to you home which I feel is best as my dog will be in his own environment has anyone used them or aware of them. I would appreciate any information...thanks!
we had him in training classes from 13 weeks of age and he has been socialised but the one problem that re occurs is that when hes on the lead he barks at every dog he sees its becoming a real problem as we can not take him to certain places anymore, we have tried a number of techniques but nothing seems to have worked so far! When he is off the lead he is fine slightly exciteable but playful with other dogs!

I wouldn't use them. Unless your dog needs a behaviourist (and then Bark Busters very definitely couldn't help you), he would benefit from going to classes. Dogs need socializing and in classes you get that in a controlled environment as well as someone to teach you how to train your dog.
However, if you're having serious behavioural problems with your dog, you need to get a behaviourist to come to your house, NOT Bark Busters.

I wouldn't pay to have someone come in and train my dog when it is so easy for you to do it yourself.
First, remember that a GSD is bred to be a guard dog so he is just doing his job by barking. However, you can let him know that you are the pack leader and, while one or two barks as a warning are OK, he can't keep barking once you've told him "enough".
Below is a link from a great resource that will help you with barking.
Remember, too, that your 8 month old dog is now an adolescent and is trying to be demonstrate how tough he is. Training him now will be a bit more of a challenge than it would have been if you had started when he was still a puppy. Still, if you are consistent, calm and clear with him, you can easily solve this problem for free.
If he hasn't already been neutered, you can have him done any time.

8 month old GSDs are horrible! They are becoming teenagers and are at their worst at this age. Don't stop taking him places, that's the worst thing you can do.
You don't need Bark Busters, find a good training class because your problem with your dog is when he is out, not at home.
If your trainer tells you you need one to one or a Behaviourist, find a properly trained, experienced one from this site:
http://www.apdt.co.uk/local_dog_trainers.asp
There are links from there to other organisations.
Don't know where you live, but you may find one of the many GSD Clubs have a training class just for GSDs. Listed at the bottom of this page:

Can your dog's breeder not help you?

I know that they are all franchises so the trainers could be different with each franchise. I've heard that they use old fashioned methods that are proven to not be effective. Our local Bark Busters told a friend to keep their dog crated for 10 hours a day to calm him down. Instead of dealing with the dog's hyperactivity, they were told to put him in the crate every time that he acted out. Needless to say, this didn't work.
I agree with the first poster. Find a reputable behaviourist or training facility.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aM541
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

In any given situation, focus on what you do want your dog to do instead of on whatever he’s doing wrong. Learn how to train your dog https://tr.im/EEBcJ
For example, suppose that on many evenings, your young dog gets busy looking for trouble just as you’re digesting your dinner. He grabs a boot from the mat by the front door and gallops through the house with it. You yell at him and take it away. He grabs its mate. You yell and take it away. He heads for the kitchen and starts checking out the counters in case something tasty’s been left behind. You chase him away. And on and on, until you’ve lost your temper and torn out clumps of hair you can ill afford to lose.
