I do think there is two answers though. the (Mature Person ) typically has compassion and love in his or her being , which allows them to work freely towards a solution , while the one waiting to see is consumed with Pride..most unresolved issues are based on the fact that either one or both parties have their pride and because of it , neither one will work to resolve the issue.

If this is a Work related issue where monetary reward or accolades will be given to the one who has the solution, then greed is also a factor but the above still applies.

a misunderstanding can go down in a number of ways...often it is not a 50 -50 thing who was unreasonable, many times one person is upset and does most of the damage ; so it is natural for one to withdraw from the reaction of the other...and staying away can be a mature choice as well...who needs to reconcile with someone who has been unreasonable? sometimes misunderstandings reveal huge characture flaws and chosing to avoid future problems is a wise and mature thing to do as well.

This is the love that never fails, and the one whose mind is stayed on it is perfect, in love. God expects us to resolved misunderstandings as soon as possible. sometimes it is hard as our feelings are involved.

But the one who does is doing the will of the Father.

sometimes one will not be ready even if the other comes to settle things.

it depends on what the issue is.... who started it and who said mean things...... perhaps the person who is waiting for the first move is within her rights because the other person has bad mouthed them, humiliated them and caused them enough pain to be leery of even speaking..... or perhaps the person who made the first move is only trying to make the first move because he is horny!
