Landon Donovan to Serie A Club?

@diablito: you must remember that he was with some big clubs when he came to europe. bayern munich had miroslave klose, lucas podolski, and luca toni all before donovan. how many players in the world could get time in that line-up? you could probably count them on one hand.

beckham is a midfielder; not a forward and donovan's content with the galaxy because he's the star for the US squad with the galaxy but when he goes to be just another player everyone will say where did donovan go? and he doesn't want that. he wouldn't be playing against rooney, etc. he'd be playing against defenders; not forwards. and he'd definitely be good enough to make a mid-table, english league side.

now i'm a US fan, but i believe donovan's dreaming if he thinks he can make it with a big-time european club. he must go to a smaller, yet still significant club in europe such as everton, aston villa, or fulham. not necessarily those specific clubs but just to give you an idea of the calibur of clubs that i feel he should be playing at. i pretty much only follow the EPL so that's why i only gave you english clubs.

It wont happen Landon has made it clear that he does not want to move. The only way he is going to move is at the end of the season to a German club.

I wanna say that even though i am against the move if Landon goes to Livorno Sign him i will then root for Livarno even though my roots are with Milan.

He won't go. He should, but he won't go. He couldn't make it in the bundesliga, twice, but I think he could be successful in Livorno. After all, there's no pressure there for him, just like in the MLS with the Galaxy, and he has no one blocking his spot on the starting line up.

But wait, last year he left for the Bundesliga. This year he might leave for Serie A. What about his commitment to the Galaxy and the MLS? Or does that only apply to Beckham?

well donovan won't make it with big clubs such as Bayern. he's gotta go a little smaller like clubs such as everton, fulham, marseille, etc. not these clubs specifically but clubs of that calibur. i do like clark for this club though. but wow, we don't have any internationals in serie a since alexi lalas; now we may have 3.

they'll have to pay him a lot. Despite Beckham's "influence" donovan is still the real face of soccer in america. He'll need to go to a club in need of forwards, his time at bayern suffered because he was stuck behing the german national team's 2 starting strikers in Klose and Podolski, as well as Luca Toni, all 3 of whom are top caliber international players. he'll be best with a second tier team in a top league, or a top tier in a secondary league (Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, PSV, Ajax, Celtic, Fulham, Everton, Palermo, St-Etienne, etc.)

Donovan won't go why? Because its a newly promoted club, he wants to go to a Euro team that's BIG. He would rather stay in the Galaxy where he's a idol for the MLS. The go to a unknown team in Italy. But if he couldn't cut it in Gemrany what makes you think he can do it in Italty.?

I'm not hating or bashing. But we all know Donovan thinks he deserves to be in a top European team. If it was Inter, Juventus, Or Milan he would want to go bad but since its a newly promoted club he would rather be in the Mls.

Edit: @ dontTead22 but donovan also went to Bayern Leverkusen dint he? He went twice and couldn't make it there. If Beckam could made it in AC Milan considering he had players like Ronaldinho, Gatusso, Seedorf, Pato. He made it and Milan wanted him to stay. The EPL is to much for donovan you think he could be able to play agaisnt..... Rooney, Gerrard, Drogba, Etc.........

Lets face it Donovan has it to good in Galaxy, why would he want to go to a team where he wouldn't be the star but just another player? He has it to good in LA. Donovan will end his Career in the MLS.

I hope he gets to be there he deserves to play in Europe hes a great player

if he cant make it in germany with great players around them how can you think he can make it in ITALY! with not so great player around him
