Huge list of double standards against guys. Only about three of them are untrue. Feminist response to some...?

Or all of them? This lits is long, but it underlines everything I've been saying since I came to GWS. I found it on a facebook page.

hy is it that women complain when men leave the toilet seat up, but men don’t complain when women leave it down?

Why do women complain about men that only want one thing, but men don’t complain about women that want everything?

Why do women have the choice between abortion, adoption, dropping an unwanted baby off at a hospital, raising the child with a father, or raising the child without a father, but the only choice men have is to agree?

Why do women dress in makeup, short skirts, bare midriffs, and low-cut blouses but complain about men that stare at them?

Why do we pretend that men are the ones that abuse children when it is a well-known fact that women abuse children more than men?

If single mothers have it so bad, why do women initiate about eighty percent of divorces and routinely commit perjury to win custody?

Why do we have a Violence Against Women Act but nothing for men when women cause domestic violence just as often as men?

Why is it funny when a woman kicks a man in the groin but terrible if a man did the same to a woman - won't the man be in more pain?

Why is it terrible for a woman to be raped once but funny when male prisoners get raped over and over?

Why is a man a wimp if he lets his wife beat up on him but a criminal if he defends himself?

Why does women’s health get much more attention when men die about seven years younger than women?

Why do we complain about legislators being mostly male when they always promote women’s rights and never promote men’s rights?

Why is it sexist to have clubs for only men but empowering to have them for only women?

If women only make 72 cents for the same work where a man earns a dollar, why don’t companies hire only women and put the competition out of business?

How do police know who to arrest when there is a domestic disturbance involving lesbians?

Why do married women complain that their husbands don’t want to change a baby’s diaper but divorced women say their ex-husbands can’t take care of a child?

Why do men that don’t pay child support go to prison but nothing ever happens to women that don’t allow visitation?

If women-in-the-military is such a good thing, why don’t they have to register for the draft?

Why are we so concerned about girls under-performing boys in math and science but not concerned about boys under-performing girls in everything else?

Why do fathers have to pay the mother to take his children away from him in divorce?

Why is it legal for women to lie to men about who the father of a baby is to get child support, but a crime if she tells the same lie to the government to get Social Security or military benefits?

Why do women have to prove they spent the money on the children when they collect welfare but don’t have to do the same when they collect child support?

Why do we have to cut men’s sports that have fans to create women’s sports that don’t?

Why do women tennis players win the same prize money as men when they only play three sets and men play five - isn't that equal pay for less work?

Why is it called sexual freedom when a married woman commits adultery but called cheating when a man does the same?

Why are female murderers presumed to be mentally ill but male murderers presumed to be killers?

Why are there thousands of “father’s rights” groups but no “mother’s rights” groups?

Why do we have so many fathers groups fighting for more time with their children when there are so many social problems attributed to fatherlessness?

Why do men have to support women at the same standard of living following divorce when women don’t even have to cook and clean his new apartment?

If divorced women have it worse than divorced men, why do divorced men commit suicide eight or ten times as much as divorced women?

Why do we pretend that men walk out on their wives and children when women initiate about eighty percent of divorces?

Why is it considered sexist to have a couple of television shows geared towards men when there are several channels catering only to women?

Why are television moms always portrayed as wonderful and loving and television dads always portrayed as inept buffoons?

Why is it politically incorrect to say anything negative about women but funny to put men down?

Why are women without a job considered to be exercising free choice but men without a job considered a bum?

Why do feminists demand that women be equally represented in high paying and powerful jobs but don’t complain when low-paying, dirty, and dangerous jobs remain mostly done by men?

Why do we have to say “Chairperson” and “Congressperson” but its ok to say “garbage man” and “bad guy”?

Why do we always hear the phrase “innocent women and children” but never hear about “innocent men” or “m

    Dammit, I love this question!

I'm putting this in my favourites so that I can read it over and over in the future.

I'd like to copy this question and submit another copy of it, just to grind those anti-male women into the ground a little more. I'm reading some of the answers they are giving, and I can tell they are pretty steamed at the justice you are dealing them.

Here's a couple more things I could add:

-Why do parades et al involving soldiers have to feature men and women in soldier uniforms, when men are drafted against their will and die in wars, while women aren't drafted and stay at home?

-Why do female teachers abuse young boys, when 10-15 years down the road those same boys are going to be gentlemen who will look after and care for society?

-Why do girls call boys stupid, when history shows that 90%+ of everything have been invented by men?

-Why do women complain that men are always dirty, when research shows that women spread more bacteria than men?

-A woman can gestate and give birth to babies. It takes 9 months to go from a blastoid to a human. They brag about it and talk about how great they are because of that all the time.

A man, by the time he is 13, is able to impregnate a woman every day of his life, until he is at least in his 40s.

(That's roughly 10 000+ babies) We never brag about it, or even talk about it.

To all the anti-male women out there:

I am a man. If you don't like it, screw you. We've done a LOT for you and it's about time you went to your place and started appreciating us.

I like your list. Some I want to respond to because I think they're not examples of double standard as such:

Right, for me, the toilet-seat thing doesn't matter at all. It's pretty easy to put a lid down yourself. But think about it: the loo is probably going to be used more times with the seat up than down, because guys sit down to take a dump, as do women - women also sit to pee. If you assume men and women use toilets equally, more times than not, the seat is down, so it's more convenient to leave it down.

Women dress that way not necessarily to get men to stare at them. A lot of it is what is expected of them. A woman isn't considered 'smart' unless she has make-up on. She dresses more to project and image than men do, in general. It's not always about being attractive to men - dressing that way also intersects with confidence.

I think there's a lot of imbalance about abuse: we generally see men as the only perpetrators of sexual abuse to minors, but women do this too. However, the physical, mental, and emotional abuse is largely from mothers to their children, often simply because the mothers are the ones more often looking after the children, so the incidence is more likely.

What the legislators are promoting has nothing to do with their gender. We want females to have equal chance to be legislators no matter what they advocate. The fact is simply that women do not get equal opportunity to men in the field, and that needs to be changed.

The fact is that most JOBS are done by men, purely because women tend to stay at home and look after kids.

Also, that "Men have invented 90% of everything" is clearly because men have historically been educated whilst women have not, so really it's an argument for women's rights.

More or less, the rest I agree with but I think it's important to remember the double standards for men and women, which generally work conversely and have various advantages and disadvantages. I would check some statistics, too - a couple are slightly outdated.

My wife to our doctor yesterday....had the same symtoms that I did...doctor wanted to put her into hospital, doing ultra sound this morning and blood tests....me, it took 10 days to get ultra sound....14 months later, they found out that my gallbladder was eat up and took it out....everytime I went into ER doctors always questioned why they had not taken out my gallbladder....point, the same doctor never offered to put me into hospital, the same day that I saw him, then jerked around for 14 months to get the gallbladder out...again, same symtoms, that I had, but since she is a woman, different approach and quicker tests.

this is funny, possibly the longest list of women's rights that don't make sense and mostly trump male rights.

One idea that you mention is women are more likely to be awarded the children in a divorce and more likely to be on government aid. Except in extreme cases I would be afraid to give custody to the mother because of the burden to society as a whole. (Extreme cases would mean that dad is already playing but pirates in jail.)

i agree some feminists are creating unfair double standards. but most feminists don't think this way and on television only a small portion of shows (mostly the mind-numbing comedies) feature the "dumb dad" stereotype. Also remember that men often create stereotypes for themselves. I can bet you that men and women both came up with the stereotype. Also alot of the unfairness you described is a result of seeing women as the weaker sex, and although we may not admit it some men still subconsciously think this. also nathan MD t shirt and jeans is casual. See the problem with some feminists is that they take a problem that really women created themselves and make it our problem and claim its inequality.

i don't know much else to say other than i agree,i think someone would have to be blind not to notice that while there are double standards against women there are also as you listed above the same against men

TO THE GUY WHOS ANSWER WAS VOTED TO THE TOP

    1. You are complaining that men are forced into the military and not women. I completely understand that. That is sexist, if it were true. There hasn't been a draft in 50 years. Then you go on to say that women soldiers shouldn't be put into parades because they volunteered to service their country where as the imaginary men you speak of apparently didn't. Women make the choice to fight for their country as well as men. So why should men get recognition for it and not women?

    2. In this reason you say "Why do female teachers abuse young boys," as if all female teachers abuse boys which is just repulsing in itself that you would say that. Yet thats not all you then say that they shouldn't do that because those "gentlemen who will look after society." No, no one should abuse a child, women or man, because it is WRONG! It isn't because the young boys are needed to be future sculptors of the world. Because god forbid that a women does something influential because than she will just mess everything up. The way you say this is delivering the message you don't believe women could participate in the expansion of society or knowledge. This message is you generalizing all women teachers as child abusers and saying only boys will be the future leaders of our world.

    3. Boys and girls call each other stupid. It isn't something that exclusively all women say to men. Personally if anyone is being an idiot I will let them know. I don't care if they are a girl or a boy. Than you go on to say that men obviously can't be stupid because they made most of the innovations in society. I'M NOT SURE IF YOU NOTICED BUT THAT IS BECAUSE WOMEN HAVE BEEN DEPRIVED OF THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES AS MEN FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS! Women accomplishments weren't reported, they aren't in our history books because there was extreme sexism and still is. This statement is undermining the fact that women could not educate themselves as well as a man. And even if they did society oppressed them and told them to stay on the shelf with all the other dolls and take care of their men. They weren't given the opportunities to be in government, vote, speak their mind. Women could barely do anything outside of their role to be a wife and mother without insane amounts of ridicule or punishment. Where as men were treated as superior. Men held all the power because society stepped on women and told them they couldn't be anything more than a graceful caring wife and mother.

    4. I don't know anyone who calls men dirty. I really don't. You can't generalize all women. There are definitely unhygienic men and women out there.

    5. Did you ever attend health class. Women bleed for nine days straight. You know that cramp that people get in their foot that hurts when you move it and extremely uncomfortable. Imagine getting that near your lower region. Yeah, extremely painful. And are you seriously trying to compare pregnancy to sperm. You are trying to compare ejaculating which takes no effort and is not painful at all to nine months of sporadic vomiting, nausea, fatigue, pain, bleeding, cramps, aching, cravings, and bloating. I didn't even mention the fact of the frequent urination and excruciating pain of a human coming out of a 2 inch hole in your body. I think your argument loses.

One person said "How come everyone history was working for womens rights instead of mens rights?"

BECAUSE MEN ALREADY HAD THE MOST RIGHTS THEY COULD HAVE HAD! THE MEN'S RIGHTS WERE THE ONES WOMEN WERE TRYING TO ATTAIN! WOMEN HAD NO RIGHTS THAT MEN DIDN'T HAVE! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! YOUR QUESTION IS HORRIFYINGLY IDIOTIC!
