I was there with the beta and i can tell you why.

Its because of the command prompts. After a while of playing the game, it gets pretty boring. And i really dont want to join a RPG server, as i love PVP.

Once we all figured out the command " /me licks _______ " it became an instant classic. Ranging from " /me lick you " to " /me sits down and farts ", it was just nice to see it come out of the orange action prompts intsead of the word bubbles.

update: oh and i second that gamer nerd. I licked my friends, but occasionally, when you're a high level, people follow you and lick you. Then when you go " can i help you? " it deevolves into " hi "'s and " i like you " 's... but we all know its because they wanted us to run them through some instance.

Luckily it was a new character I made so I deleted her and made a new one in a different server...creeeeeeepy people on WoW.

    Tristifer licks you.

It's usually intended to be random. No point. Try using "/pick" back at them.

same reason they hit /dance or /moan or /thirsty or any of the other hundreds of slash emotes on there

they are meant to make the game more fun

im a night elf female, and i love the way our clap looks, so rather than greeting everybody or saying hello, i /clap at them
