Do you have to pay to scatter someone's ashes?
Obviously if I want to do it off of a bridge or something, I have to get permission from the city. But, do you have to pay or get permission if you want to scatter them at a cemetery?
well, I would just go and do it, but, it is my nana. and I was going to try and say something but, I don't think I could. See, her son is burried out there. I thought about just sitting at his grave and slyly pouring them out..I just don't want to be disrespectful...

We always scatter our loved ones ashes with impunity. With impunity, I say. If you're concerned, just make sure it's a country cemetery, and/or nobody "official-looking" is around...
Another option is to place the ashes in an airtight container; dig a safe distance above a loved ones' casket, and deposit the container there. No one will be the wiser, if you pick a safe time to make the..."deposit."
We bought a space for one aunt's ashes, along with a small headstone, but if money is tight, surely the ashes could be buried atop a loved ones pre-existing casket. What could it possibly hurt?
Just don't do like my cousins did with another aunt and split the ashes in two, like it's coke or something. My poor aunt: Half of her is in a TX cemetery; half of her is floating off the coast of FL...
