Will you offer me your job advice?

I have a crappy full-time job. I work every Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 11 pm. I have been applying and interviewing for a better job for months now. One company I interviewed with in March hired me as a temp with potential for hire at an unspecified date. I start Monday and this temp job is also full-time M-F 8am to 5pm. I need advice because I feel pressured to keep my crappy job, considering this is only a temp position. I wouldn't feel comfortable quitting until I was hired permanently. Am I stupid thinking I can pull this kind of schedule off, working 7 days a week? What would you do?

If the new company hired you with the understanding that the job could be permanent, then they obviously saw something in you that they liked. If it's not a crappy job, I would try for it.Anything is better than a crappy job with lousy hours, probably lousy pay too. Give the new job a shot.

Lots of people are working more than one job -- and many more none at all. I think you are smart to hang onto your weekend job for awhile, but put a time limit on the temp job so you aren't working 7 days a week for months. Decide what you think you can do -- a month? Six weeks? Most companies can tell pretty quickly if a temp is someone they want to hire full time.

In my experience with working two jobs. I wore myself out, quick too. I agree with Wilma, That there are a lot of people with two jobs and more without any these days. So play it smart and keep the weekend job. and try out the temp job. Most employers know within a week whether or not they are going to keep you. But don't kill yourself trying to figure it out. If worse comes to worse. I work with a company that is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. We are a work from home based company, that is looking to expand all over the United States with great potential to make some great money. We have produced 107 millionaires. If you are interested please feel free to email me. I can gladly answer any of your questions you might have. Good luck with all of this
