Which bayou are you referring to? I live along the largest and busiest, Bayou Lafourche. People are still fishing here, but only Catfish for commercial selling to Catfood plants.

I fish in the smaller bayous in the back of Golden Meadow. We have wonderful fishing there. Not contaminated at all. But not sure about smaller bayous around N.O.

katrina was years ago. Unless the bayou was nasty BEFORE katrina, then i wouldnt see why you wouldnt fish . Have fun!

Other than that Have fun! Go to city park. They are fine and are stocked every few months with bass.

    Okay.

So I have been living in Louisiana (Baton Rouge) my whole life and have never laid eyes on a bayou.

So when people coincide Louisiana with bayous I'm like what!?

    Never seen a bayou!
