Why do people who are of the ...?
catholic church so easily offended by someones answer when it speaks their belief. I gave a link to a site about catholicism, and someone reported it as being solicitation. When people put a link up against what I believe I don't get offended I read it to understand them and it just makes me stronger in my faith. Are catholics really so weak in their faith they can't take reading something that refutes their beliefs.
I am looking for honest answers and ask everyone to be polite.
Thanks Erin and for everyone else here is the link i speak of

Honest answer. You appear to be judging me and all Catholics based on one individual's action. Generalizations like that abound on this forum but don't really help any of us to understand the other any better. As to being "so weak", I read attacks on my faith daily here. I just wonder why so many people come here to run down my faith rather than extol the virtues of their own or look for common ground. If anyone here were actually trying to convince someone, they would focus on what we share as a starting point. Most people don't seem t be here for that though.
Edit: I went to the site. It's an offensive attack-Catholicism site to start with and really drives home my point. I clicked on the first link... papal infallibility. It demonstrates that the individual formulating the argument has not taken the time to research what he is attacking, i.e. he does not understand what the Catholic Church means. When I choose to argue a point, I make an effort to understand both sides and at all costs avoid misrepresenting my opponent's position. To do so has me battling the proverbial straw man.
If you are sincere in trying to save us, I recommend that you study us first. Read a Catholic translation of the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Do so with a less jaundiced eye. When atheists read the Bible, the do so with highly inaccurate preconceptions that prevent them from rightly interpreting it. Their attacks on Christian belief are highly ineffective as a result. Have any of them convinced you? Of course not. Why not? Because they routinely demonstrate their ignorance of scripture.
When anti-Catholic evangelicals demonstrate a similar ignorance of Catholic faith or intentionally exaggerate or misrepresent it, they are just as readily ignored and brushed aside. If you honestly want to convert us, get an accurate view of what we believe and stop taking web sites like that one at face value. It took me all of 10 seconds to discount it based on obvious ignorance on their part.

They could've taken offense to it because there are a lot of misconceptions about a lot of religions in general.
Was the site deliberately slandering? It might not have been the person being weak in faith but more along the lines of getting back at you....
I'm not saying that what they did was right...maybe the person was just having a bad day. idk...benefit of the doubt gets to me sometimes.
ps - you shouldn't summarize catholics as "really so weak in THEIR faith" if it was just one person reporting you....
