Can you iron silk clothing? I hand wash my silk items, I'm too afraid I'll shrink them if I try & wash ...?

... them in the machine. So will heat bother my silk blouse, or is ironing safe for my silk blouse?

Yes, silk can be ironed. Use the right temperature and do not use steam but use a water spritzer with a fine mist. Spray the silk with a fine mist of water and iron on the silk setting (medium).

It isn't advisable. My mother made the mistake of ironing a silk bathrobe and she easily burned a hole right through it. Silk melts easily. Hang them up and wait til they hang out. Or after they are dry, put something heavy like a tome or something-leave it for several hours.

Silk wrinkles so easily....I would pick one of the lowest settings on the iron and go to it. Usually the iron says what the settings are.

steam silk or have the dry cleaner do it for you.
