Hmmm...to hear Republicans talk, they consistently fear:

--we're going to take away all of their guns <<Doesn't happen

---we're going to not support the military<< We fully funded the Defense Budget and fully funded the VA for the first time in 16 years

The things we liberals talk about are:

--you trying to force your personal religious beliefs on ALL Americans<<Has happened repeatedly--with your religious beliefs becoming part of my kid's science class, your beliefs hung on my public courthouses, all over money.....you banning adoption and foster care to all gay and single people in 6 states so far....even if the foster children happen to be related to the gay/single person.

--promoting war/violence towards nations that are not direct threats to this nation<<< See: Iraq war.

--fear mongering to delay/stop progress<<See: 'socialism', 'fascism', 'marxism', 'HUSSEIN", 'Terrorists', and every other name we have been called to try to scare voters against any of our leaders and/or policies.

I think your premise is mostly true, although the Liberals' fear of an intrusive right-wing Police State (Which Obama has endorsed and continues and will likely build upon) has most definitely come true with Bush's Patriot Act. Mostly the Right and Left do the same things but are held to different standards. Example; when it was Bush's War in the middle east, that was held as being bad, while when Obama continues and follows through with the plan and escalates Afghanistan, nobody on the Left seems to mind. And let us not forget that "Only Nixon could go to China". =Double standards.

For the rest of your comments I must take a hard line; taxpayer-supported secular schools should teach facts (reading, math, history, science, etc) not belief systems nor should they support one side or the other of ideological struggles.

As for the gay agenda, while I am not a supporter of it and view it as intending a direct insult to and attack on the general moral attitudes of most Americans and on the Churches in particular, let's back up a step to 1776. In the sort of Jeffersonian Democracy us right-wingers wish existed, should not people be free in their beliefs and practices so long as they do not trespass on the rights of others?
