If you strike the ball at the right time and on the correct part of the bat about one third up the face and in the middle it will travel miles.it also depends how fast the ball is delivered to you as the faster it is traveling towards you the less effort required to hit it back.Your bat also may be at fault as they can break this is when the handle breaks down it may not be apparent when looking at the bat but it will lose power.

I mean, I can't really say much other than it really sucks. The IRS has to do this because if they don't, they would get criticized and possibly sued for discrimination purposes. They have to treat people as equals. That being said, the Yankees or Derek Jeter should cover the costs of that. I5 would only be about $20,000 and to DJ/the Yankees, that's nothing. However, if anyone catches a home run ball and is offered a bunch of stuff, make sure you include in your demands that the team pays the taxes.

You got to follow through with the bat, but basically as with most bat and racquet sports you've got to hit the sweet spot, on a cricket bat probably about as third of the way up the bat in the middle.
Strength will help obviously but no good slogging it hard if you don't hit the right spot.

the secrets of hitting the bat long:
1st, everyone has a preference to bat weights, personally i think the lighter the better, unless your powerful and can control the heavier bat.
2nd, make sure your choosing the right balls to hit, e.g. you don't want to be swing across the line at all, and you would also want to avoid swinging across balls that are waist height and around off stump, hence good length balls.
3rd, you should experiment your hitting in the nets, because you wouldn't want to be experimenting in a match situation, where you could lose your wicket.
little tip - footwork is the key to any shot, so make sure your getting your head right over the line of the ball. And you should be fine.
GOOD LUCK PRACTICING

I think you should start off with a smaller bat, that's what I did and occasionalli you would hit a big shot but you can score runs just nudging through gaps for singles, and when you are stronger, like I am now, you will be able to use the bigger bats to get more boundary's

Make sure your hitting the ball first. then make sure your hitting it in the middle of the bat where it's the thickest. Make sure that your top hand on the handle is gripped firmly, and also make sure your playing the right shot.

Don't hit it.You gotta stroke the ball into gaps till you get the hang of playing a cricket ball.
