piercings during boot camp?

i'm going the air force boot camp soon, and i've my tongue and belly pierced. What can I do so they won't close up? I know you can bring some stuff with you during the boot camp, so is it ok to only wear my rings when i'm sleeping or the TI will check on it?

Update:

I'm asking if the TIs will check your body or your tongue when you're sleeping. I only wanna wear them when I'm sleeping so they won't close up

I would advise you to take them out for boot camp, you would get in more trouble there. Let them close up, you can get them repierced afterwards. There are sooo many people that have them pierced in the military and get away with it. Just don't make it obvious in uniform. Your belly piercing should be covered, and get a flesh colored tongue ring while at work, and be careful not to show it. If somebody sees it, most likely they will just tell you to take it out, not a big trouble item in the AF. I guess depending on who sees it.

the tongue one is the one that is going to be the most hassle.

All of them have to be removed during boot and the tongue one can NOT be worn whilst in uniform ever, so I would look at saying good bye to that now.

The belly one might well be able to be covered a lot easier than others, we was advised to get the plastic clear ones to ensure it does not close up but was also told that should they see it of have an issue with it then it would be removed at once.

I knew an army SGT who had a belly piersing, she showed it off at family day....I just could not see how she got down in the dirt on th erange in uniform with it, maybe she took it out during the day.

The TI's or Drill s may show up early to see if fire guard is doign their duty so you may want to be aware of this...

AFI 36-2903 (Dress and Appearance) says that you can't have tongue piercings unless you're off-base and in civies, which won't happen for at least 1-2 months after basic until you're in the proper "phase" during technical training. They will probably close up, it doesn't seem avoidable.

Learn to do push ups and run. If you are willing to violate on something so minor and I had caught you, I would have sought to have you dismissed from the service. You could not be trusted at any level. Take them out...leave them out...get over it. You can't wear them even in civvies.

You're not allowed to have either of those things pierced in the DoD so no there is nothing you can do to make sure they dont close up except to not enlist.

Neither of those piercing are allowed in uniform. In boot you are going to have to go without, sorry. If you are caught with them in uniform you can get into trouble. Not just in boot, but throughout your whole career.

actually you can sneak things into basic and ait, they dont check your body while your sleeping (USMC im not sure) its really easy to hide things, just dont get caught. put them in your bra. keep them there at all times unless you have them in when sleeping, because they do have health and welfares. where they go through all your belongings. keep hush hush about it.

you are NOT permitted to have any piercings at all while in basic training. not even sleeping. and you will not be able to 'sneak' in any thing either. anything you bring that is not authorized will be confiscated.

You could buy a flesh colored low profile bar for your tongue, but if they see it, they will make you take it out.
