You know how people who tell you how honest they are usually are the least honest & trustworthy?
Well, I have noticed that those who ask on Yahoo Answers (I am always answering questions in the Mathematics section) and say "guaranteed 10 points, I am desperate" are the ones who never bother to give best answer , thumbs up, nada. Have you guys noticed similar results?

I agree with the other answers I usually do not answer those question. And usually the ones that ask questions that are desperate and needing an answer right now never pick best answer so do they even read the answers. Oh well there are always a lot of other questions just ignore the ones like that. Good luck!!!

Yes I have noticed this. In fact many people do not award a best answer which makes me a little madder. I don't know what the stats are at all, but I think that people just use the answers and forget about their obligation to the writer.
It takes a bit to answer questions, especially if they are in any way unusual. I have gone back to some of the questions I've answered (not nearly as many as you) and since I have a very low % of best answers it is easy for me to check. The kind of people I answer which I'm going to stop doing, have under 125 points. They do not award what they say they will or that they should.
Perhaps they are just young. ... Just my opinion.
The most virtuous people I know will hardly ever tell you anything about their virtue.
Is there some way you can tell if you have been awarded 10 points other than by looking.
Thanks for the email.
Who is nada?
I've thought of this somemore. Those of us who make serious answers should have a note at the bottom of our answers that say if 10 points are not awarded or best solution not given, the name of the proposer could have his/her name added to a data base that could be kept by those with points over ???? or a level greater than ????. I wonder if yahoo answers would allow such a thing.
Obviously such a warning would have to be acted upon after so many infractions.

Yes & No Pun intended here , but I honestly usually skip those for exactly that reason. Although I do occasionally answer one if it is a really good question*
