You'd think that people would have had enough of silly sad poems?

Are sad poems as prevalent in poetry as love songs are in music?

Well I for one have had enough! Let's get happy people! If only for a little while.... What do you think of my poem?

Ipanema….

The name alone

puts a Jobim bounce in my step

The boardwalk’s alive

but no see no hot papis yet

The pink thong bikini

is an invitation to stare

But the only accepts

are flabby men with too much hair

No matter, no matter

I enjoy their warm pervy grins

And how the sun’s juicy lips

leaves lipstick sweat on my skin

And how my Skol’s crispy taste

brings out the beach’s fuzzy glow

Like the sunshine on the ocean

swimming in the tide’s ebb and flow

Brazil! Brazil! I love Brazil!

Capoeira on sand

Havaianas on feet

Bronze on body

Romance on tongue

I’m melting! I’m melting! From the bliss of it all!

I’ll be a puddle for sure

if I live here for good

Better get back on the plane

And stay solid in the States

I probably should have stayed with the same form throughout, but I just got too excited, I couldn't help but break out of it!!! Is that forgiveable?

Try to use structure in your poems so they are better. Like: The princess and her prince" She wanders alone in the night, Wishing to find her handsome prince, She searches for hours but he is nowhere in sight, She longs to get her true loves kiss, She runs through the trees, She explores the beach, He isnt in his castle so where could he be? Maybe he is too far out of reach, Sad and hurt she goes back home. Great poems, I would say it is a 10/10.

No no, it was absolutely riveting. I'm excited now too! Haha. I want to go some place hot with hot bodies and sweat and music and romance and tongues.

    Thank you!
