After 3 months of silence my ex-girlfriend has returned, what should I be thinking?
Quick History: We dated for almost a year, things were truly great (The best ever), and then suddenly she breaks up with me stating "I just don't feel the same way about you." She cuts all communication and after a week so do I. Neither of us has ever stayed in contact with an "ex" (I ignore my ex-wife 90% of the time and we have a daughter).
A week ago the ex-girlfriend reappears (after a 3 month hiatus) stating that she is taking a class on my campus and wants to grab something to eat and drink. But she is in class at night and I in the morning while I work when she would be on campus. She knows my schedule and knows that I never would have known she was on my campus unless she told me. why is she back? What could she possibly want? And what should I expect?
NOTE: She's 24, I'm 28. I've already agreed to meet so... help!!!

Gate:
I'll talk to you like I would to a son - bluntly.
Whoever she dumped you for has dumped her or she's grown bored of. This chickie is trouble. No one is worth what she does.
Call and cancel. If you can't get in contact with her, then simply don't go.
A word of caution: the more you hold your ground in not wanting contact with her, the more she'll try to get back in your life. Don't be flattered; it's not you she's after, it's the game.
Stand your ground and stay away from her. Keep your eyes open for a girl who doesn't play games.

Have you lost your ex, and are now asking for help on "how to get my ex back when he's moved on'? Don't bother moping, because what you have lost does not mean you have lost it forever. Here are some quick and simple tips for learning how to get your ex back even if he has moved on to another woman and no longer appears to be interested in associating with you. Learn here https://tr.im/4mL6h
1 - One of the most advantageous things that you can do is simply to be his friend. Make a really good friend to him, showing him that you understand him and that you can be around him without creating any drama. Show him that you can joke around with him and have a healthy friendship with him. When the drama and stress of the relationship and breakup have subsided, he may realize that he wants you again.
2 - The first step to getting the man of your dreams back is finding a way to convince him that he still wants you. Unless he really, really does not want anything to do with you, then there are a number of options that you can employ from this point on.
3 - When you communicate with your ex boyfriend, be sweet and kind to him but don't be afraid to have a little bit of attitude. You are going to want him to want you, but you're also going to want to give him the feeling that he cannot have you just yet. While playing games is not the best way to go, you do not want give an air of hard to get, making him more interested in the process.
4 - You should be playing a little bit hard to get, but you also want to make sure that he knows you are available. You shouldn't completely rule out the concept of flirting and hanging out with friends, because drumming up a little bit of jealousy never hurt anyone - But it is important that you play it safe because if he doesn't think you are available, he probably will not find the motivation to pursue you.
5 - Avoid acting desperate at all costs. If you act desperate, your ex boyfriend will under estimate you. You are going to want to play things cool, letting him know that you are okay with everything that has happened, and that you are willing to move on. If you act desperate, things won't work out the way you are intending them to, so avoid doing this at all costs.

Yea well i dunno how u feel about her but its kinda evident that she might want to patch things up. You stated that things were great so she probably misses that. I'll bet the farm that when she meets with u she will try to fish and see if your seeing someone. If she does my prediction is right on the money. I would personally just say something vague like "eh Im neither here or there." LOL that confuses the hell out of them. dont feel guilty she broke your heart.
Id be wary about the whole thing. Suspicious. What happened while she was away? does she have anything to hide? whats to say she wont do it again? If anything i'd make her work for your time.

Many girls break up with their significant others, is because they need time to figure things out. Don't take it personally, if you want her back, you have to show her you can help her. If you love her then you'll let her go, that's it. Not everybody who you date in high school you end up staying with, the chances are extremely unlikely. So if she doesn't want to, then you need to let her go.

just tell her how it is. like im a girl. and if my ex boyfriend was to do this to me. i guess i would actually think about the whole situation and give u a straight answer. Read here https://tr.im/q3oea
the reason she prob doesnt respond to ur aim is either her new bf is there.. or she is just playing hard to get. all of these things is what i did to my ex boyfriend. and they work lol. he was chasing after me for 5 months (but we werent dating and we hadnt dated before) and then i played cold and yeah it got his attention. i think u should just say to her that she either loves u or she doesnt.
Give her the ultimateum...basically that u have been offered a job, but you would think it would be great to spend time with someone that u care about alot and just want to end things fun and happy.
During that time make it so unbelievable she wont want it to end.
Tell her that if she loves you that she has to break up with her boyfriend, because u cant keep going like this anymore. Just say that it is unfair on the new boyfriend, and if really did like the new boyfriend that she still wouldnt be saying that to u. Or play cold with her all the time.. dont care.. dont act like u do any way... dont respond to her things... and let her wonder what u are doing the whole summer without giving her one hint..
i say def go for the first one.. cuz the second option is just a 50/50 suicidal mission because with the first she at least gets ur aggressive i dont care side with strong points but also letting her know that u care and just want to be with her..

I'd be really careful. To just suddenly break up with you and cut off all contact without much of a reason is strange. Maybe she was dating someone else and found the grass wasn't greener, after all. You need to know what happened if she's wanting to start things up again. You want to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Good luck.

ok, you already agreed to meet with her. Have a friendly lunch, but make sure to ask what she wants from this meeting, and why she disappeared like that. Like some of the other answers, I think she's probably run out of options.. leaving you as her fallback guy. Don't settle for the fallback position. You should be someone's first choice.

It's not logical for her to disappear for 3 months and suddenly come back acting like that never happened. You should stay away from her. She needs to know you moved on with your life. I don't think she deserves you. Besides, who knows what she did during those 3 months.

Wow
My ex cut me off, 2 months ago and counting. That was his way of dumping me.
I don't know what I'd say if he made a comeback. I seriously think I'd slap him very hard around his face.
If they are selfish enough to leave us hanging, they don't deserve our time.
Where were they when we needed them??

I was in that kind of situation like your girlfriend where I just didn't feel the same way about my current girlfriend anymore.
I realize it was just a phase and that I am madly in love with her, its just because she was being too clingy so I was like "ehhh."
You should find out why she left you in the first place (maybe analyze what you or she did wrong..) and be cautious when she comes back.
Ask questions and be a little defensive I guess.
