all you need is an eithernet cable which can be gotten just about anywhere(best buy, ect) hook them up and click local xbox live match. they both need to have their own game though make sure you have two versions of whatever you want to play...... oh and you wont need an xbox live gold acount to play with just an eathernet cable btw

You need two TV's near each other, two Xbox 360's, ethernet cable, 2 copies of the same game and atleast two controllers. The ethernet cable is the network cable that comes with Xbox 360 60GB (20GB earlier) bundle or Elite bundle. You plug both ends into both of the Xbox 360's, plug the Xbox 360's into the TV's and sync the controllers with the console. Then start the game you want to play in both consoles (you need two copies of the SAME game) to play.
For example, Halo 3. You can do system link and play co-op with both players having the same screen size.

One ethernet cable to hook up the two xboxes. If more than two xboxes, you will need a router, and one ethernet cable per xbox.
