Does Stewart/Haas go against NASCAR's team rules?

I'm speaking to the 4 cars per team rule. Much has been made that Roush will have to drop a car after this season, while for all purposes Stewart/Haas is Hendricks. Engines + Chassis + shared notes = Hendricks Team for me? I am totally biased against Hendricks and think this outsourcing is terrible for the sport.

What say you?

Update:

So you would rather I conceal my bias? I'm willing to admit it in an effort to be open and honest about the discussion, you pinhead!

Roush/Yates and RCR/ DEI or EGR are good points.

Claiming SHR is its own team is rediculous! Pointing to others who "break" the rule is no defense! Did your parents teach you nothing? (JOKE!!!)

I get what you're saying. Everyone acts like the affiliation between Roush-Fenway and Yates is somehow evil, but no one cares when Hendrick does the same thing. I have been thinking the same things you have said here. Several people agree with me that they should just call it Hendrick Cup Racing and be done with it. It's really starting to bore me that only one team wins, and I find it hard to believe that they just made that much advance on everyone else.

It's all legal and by the book. Hendrick has Stewart-Haas and JR Motorsports. Roush has Yates Racing. Many teams have a similar arrangement. I think if you knew how many teams were running Hendrick engines and equipment, you'd be surprised. If you want to run a Chevrolet right now, you probably have Hendrick stuff in your shop.

SHR is it's own team. It LEASES engines and chassis. Sharing notes is entirely up to those teams. Newman's Penske team NEVER shared with Rusty Wallace's team and that used to piss Rusty off. And the other guy is right... Roush/Yates have more of a connection than HMS and SHR. DEI/RCR and Andy Petree Racing (RAD Program) used to have an engine program that was superior to anyone elses until the GEAR RULE. They had those motors going 10,000 RPM and surviving until Hendrick wanted the GEAR RULE. Then bye bye awesome motors. That's when they used to dominate the restrictor plates too. Now Hendrick dominates. All's fair I guess... It's all about the $$$!
