How about Big Ben ....?

I follow this section closely and the talk when it comes to the best quarterbacks always seems to revolve around Brady and Manning. But I think Big Ben gets overlooked and that final drive against the Cardinals last year is stuff legends are made from. Who else thinks Big Ben is a great quarterback?

Update:

To Narcoleptic Insomniac & Gamecocks Eagles #1 - Have you guys even looked up his career stats. He has only been in the league a short time and owns many quarterback records for passer ratings and wins. Some folks think is the second coming of John Elway and his record speaks for itself. Look them up sometime.

Update 2:

The comments are interesting. Yes, Pittsburgh has a strong defense and a good run game. But when you have to go 88 yards with the clock running down and the only option is to score a touchdown to win then it all comes down to the quarterback and Big Ben delivered. He has been to the Superbowl twice and has won twice. Not a bad stat. If he stays healthy he will own all of Pittsburgh's quarterback records. Not bad company to be in with the likes of Terry Bradshaw.

He will be a first ballot hall of famer, especially with one or two more superbowl victories. It is a little too early to determine where he will end up as he could possibly have ten more years of playing time in the NFL. He is able to extend a play far longer than any other QB in the league, he can throw short and long, and is able to run with the ball. If he continues on this pace he will surpass both Peyton Manning (one of my all time favorite QB's) and Tom Brady easily. Just two seasons ago he had the second highest QB rating in the league and surpassed Dan Marino as the best rookie QB. He is not a game manager, but a game maker. I met him in the grocery store accompanied by my four children, he was very cordial to all of us and talked to them about school and sports. It was not a long conversation, but meaningful to them. He overheard them talking about him and asked them who their favorite Steeler player was, he laughed when they told him he was their second favorite player.

Ben is a good quarterback, but not nearly the best. I don't think Manning is that good either. Personally, I believe Drew Brees is the best quarterback. Big Ben just doesn't have that star quality to me

If anything I think he is over rated. He was brought into a great situation in pitt. They were a great team the year he showed up. He gets over looked because people see that he has a great team around him. For example, take him out and put in jason campell from washington who is just an average qb and they would still be successful. Big ben is AVERAGE.

He is a decent quarterback who is strong. Beyond that his team is the reason he has those rings. They are the steelers. They will always be defensive.

He's a good game manager but nowhere near an elite QB. He's fortunate to have a strong supporting cast on offense and a great defensive squad making games relatively easy to win.

Using your argument, Manning tossing an airball that Tyree made a lucky catch on qualifies him as a great QB. So your argument really doesn't hold water...

He manages the game well, but be real - the Steelers D and running game wins games for them - he does enough for them to win and thats it

I think Big Ben is the best QB in the league. He can do it in the clutch.
