For Silky owners!!(or yorkies)-- FOOD PROBLEMS!!?
so i have a 5 month old silky terrier (basically the same as yorkies: fur type and others..) and like we left the house for holidays for a week and he stayed with my house keeper-ish person (not my mom) and while we were gone, my dog had to visit the vet twice because of vomitting and diahrrea so we got him a few shots and he was perfectly fine, firm pee/poo and all the other normal dogs would do...
HE BARELY EATS FOOD, and it's not like we give him like treats and snacks to eat beforehand but it seems like he doesn't like his food (Eukanuba: heard it wasn't too great) and he only finished half of it in one month (when my vet said he would be able to finish it within a month)!
Well, i can't just change the food right now cause the cost of that food was like my 2 month allowance.. but i AM going to change the food as soon as it begins to run out!!
Another thing is that his fur (or hair) is really rough, it's smooth when you stroke it but it looks all rough and not glossy and smooth! If that is also the food problem, which kind of food do you suggest??
I need the best food please.. I want my dog to enjoy eating & enjoy his life!!! THANKS!!
I give it a brush every day, more than once. But the fur never seems to be growing better.. and is it normal for a silky's hair to grow reallllly slowly?

I too have a Yorkshire terrier. This is nothing new. I had went to the vet for the same reason, my vet had told me that my dog's stomach is smaller than most breeds. I told him that I also have a Miniature Schnauzer, but he said, even smaller than that. So, for that matter, it's nothing to worry, if they eat too much; -they vomit, or poo everywhere. They eat when they want, very picky. And as for the hair, just give it a good brush every morning, or night rather. Hope this helps:D

The yorkie isn't a silky terrier. Coats are desperate by utilising genetics. I dont quite comprehend what you mean by utilising silky coat. My yorkie has magnificent sparkling thick healthful hair, is that what you like? additionally, be certain you're utilising a high quality shampoo (besides as feeding a high quality foodstuff, as that has effects on the coat besides). some shampoos are made fairly for the yorkie coat, like Plum Silky.

He could have an internal blockage, have you had your vet check him for any health problems?
& When you look for a food, make sure it has no cheap fillers like corn, wheat, maize etc. It should be meat and vegetable only. If you live in England, try Butchers Choice wet food trays.
