why was i penalised 11 points just for saying a storyline was dark?

I know it was probably the person who asked the question who couldn't just deal with the truth.

Happened to me loads of times as well i felt so PisZed off.

Some idiots on here will hit the 'report abuse' button just because they don't like or disagree with the content of your answer. The same happened to me on a question like "Please comment on my poem?" and I truthfully said that it wasn't very good, the rhythm was predictable and the subject was corny. I got a violation because I hadn't praised it and said how good it was when it was truly awful.

Fortunately, those people are a minority on here, I've been here for a long time (level 6) and incorrect violations are not really common. Brush it aside rather than feeling persecuted and reconsider quitting.

Yahoo makes out that everyone is entitled to an opinion, this isn't true. If someone doesn't like your manner, your avatar, or is just having a bad day and taking it out on everyone, you will get a negative reaction. Always appeal to get your points back, ignore any remarks that were made and join in the fun, if its not fun, then don't do it.

haha.....Yahoo Answers is also very prejudice against anyone who is not madly in love with Michael Jackson. Try saying something negative and see how many points are deducted!

It is agains theri guidelines to "chat" on here...you must actually "answer" the question, or they can throw your answer out.

sounds like you're not telling complete truth. if you are then sorry. there are, sadly, those people out there that get offended easily. and you don't have to quit. stop complaining
