    No.

    That myth was created to give validity to the idea that Jesus was the son of God. Had nothing to do at all with women and legal/social reform.

    Incidentally, the Jesus resurrection myth was lifted from the Egyptian resurrection myth of Isis/Set/Osiris. Religions have a habit of borrowing older myths and making them their own.

    Yes it was hope for future women everywhere to pin other guy's babies on unsuspecting men and get paid for it.

    Yes! We feminists never read too much into history and this is one great example. Jesus was fully on board with Germaine Greer when he decided to treat his mother with the respect traditonally accorded to all mothers in that culture. Obviously! Duh!
