But there are many programs out there that allow people with college degrees to get non-traditional license for teaching. This means they got to classes and take the teaching tests while they teach. - angelesLv 51 decade agoTo earn a credential in California, you need this or its equivalent. In Los Angeles City, if you teach a field there is a shortage in (math/science) you can teach and at the same time attend classes nights and weekends to fulfill the student teacher requirements. If you can, student teach. The other away can kill you off, or make you the most tired person around. "Burn out" is an expression you may have heard. - 1 decade agoyes, You become a student teacher when you reach the end of Your four year degree, that's when your student teaching began for education you have to do student teaching for 16 weeks ( 4 months) and after you has pass your student teaching you will receive your verification papers, then you will be able to take the state certification test math, reading, and writing. hope this helps www.techers.us.com 
- 1 decade agodefinitely yes. because you have to earn enough experiences first before being a high school teacher. some schools even require high school teachers to have a masteral degree.

- Anonymous1 decade agoI don't know of any state where you would NOT have to student teach. Sometimes they have you sit in X number of hours early in you college course work (sophomore) and it allows you to decide if teaching is what you really want.
