So what is "the surgery"?
Here's a twist, all you trans-savvy folks... hush and watch this question with me. I want to see if the GLB crew and others can give consistent answers.
What is "the surgery"? I am of course asking for both transwomen and transmen. What do you think "the surgery" is?
What do you think it involves? Please list for both transwomen and transmen, or only one if you can't create a plausible scenario to share.
Oh and one more thing! No reporting answers! I want them all!
Leave Pete C alone! lol
And quit with the thumbs folks... I'm loving the answers!

Ok, here is a CAUTION: I seriously don't know, but I have a clue, so I will guess, please don't be offended.
When it comes to the transition of a woman to a man, she gets some skin and tissue transferred from a different part of the body to form a penis, then they make it and attach it to the whole urinary-majiggies and make all the required internal attachments to make the penis as fully-functioning as possible.
For the transition of a man to a woman, He would most likely get some skin and tissue as well transferred from a different part of his body to make a vagina, they of course have to chop it off (Nooo!) lol sorry, then the doctor makes all the incisions to form a vagina, use all the tissue and stuff to make it be a real one, and make sure all of the internal things like urinary and stuff are going to be fully functioning.
Sorry, this truly was just an assumption, and I really have no clue on how man to woman would be at all, lol.
I have more of a sense for woman to man since I am a guy, which is the end-result of woman to man, duhh.

I feel like this is a trick question . . .
"The surgery" often is seen by the mainstream sector as "bottom surgery"- a vaginoplasty for transwomen, a phalloplasty or metoidioplasty for transmen. In reality, however, there are many, many more potential procedures for transpeople, and others may be more important to the individual transperson- some FtM men feel they need a hysterectomy to be truly male; most see chest surgery as one of the most important, versus bottom surgery, which doesn't matter half as much. A transwoman might benefit most from a tracheal shave- which will help her pass in everyday society, whereas her penis may or may not be that much of a problem, given how private it is.
And then there's the very idea that surgery legitimizes a trans identity, or represents completion of the transition process- neither or which are true.

I know for transwomen they get an innie made out their outie. Not too sure how it works, but I know it doesn't get chopped off. And the end result looks very realistic.
I know there are a bunch of different options for transmen. I also heard that it's really risky and doesn't work too well, or look that real. I think one of the options is to turn the **** into a ****, but it doesn't work that great. (I'm talking about what guys generally want it to do)
Sorry, I know SFA about transdom. But I bet some of you are pissing yourselves reading these answers.

This is a question I can't wait to check on when I get home from work.
The surgery or surgeries as the case may most likely be is what I am eagerly getting the last of my money together for.

Ever in view that i replaced into little and til on the present time i've got continually referred to as my mum "Mummy" and my dad "Daddy". in basic terms because of the fact they by no potential responded to "mum"/"dad". and it somewhat is often caught, i think. comparable with my siblings, too. I swear each time my mom calls me at artwork, and that i answer asserting "hi, mummy", i'm getting the main strangest seems from my artwork colleagues. They continually discover that hilarious and often take the mic. and that i will in basic terms see why that is humorous lol yet, that is by no potential replaced, and that i doubt it is going to. parents will continually be Mummy and Daddy. And specially because of the fact they gained't respond to the rest from their infants! : )

Heh, I can't wait to see what some folks cook up.
I won't answer it myself as I am a trans man and actually know what the hell I'm talking about for "the surgery" including chest surgery, phalloplasty, metoidoplasty, vaginectomy, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, and scrotoplasty are for men, and facial feminization surgery, breast augmentation, orchiotomy, and vaginoplasty are for women.
You want details, I could give details... but I fear I've said too much already.

For a male-female sex reassignment surgery the penis is refashioned into a vagina.
