And stop complaining.....at progress.

Because they'll have to admit that the Democrats were right and they were wrong.

Here are some examples of Bush's failures

    1. The banks collapsed. Homes were foreclosed. The housing bubble grew. Bush did nothing.

    2. Ignored documents saying that suicide bombers were going to hijack planes and fly them into the towers...resulting in a plane crashing into the Pentagon, two planes hitting the twin towers, a plane on its' way to blow up the White House brought down by heroic passengers (not the incompetent Bush or any of the other clowns in his administration). You mean the government couldn't stop ONE of those planes or ONE of those hijackings? People got weapons on ALL those planes?

    3. Ignored documents saying that terrorists were going to use mines to attack American tanks in Iraq.

    4. Forged documents to get us into Iraq--according to Cheney...so Republicans can't dispute this...unless they're saying that Cheney is lying. And why would he lie about something like that? What would he get out of it?

    5. Ignored the plight of New Orleans for a week during Hurricane Katrina, even though the media was showing it non-stop. At the end of the week he sent the slowest boat down there while America watched in horror as the richest country in the world had some people living in a dirty stadium and others outside drowning in water, rapes and looting.

    6. Didn't give soldiers enough armor in Iraq. Hillary Clinton and American kids had to go around him to get the armor to them.

    7. Watched stupidly as jobs were outsourced overseas...and did nothing...even after Kerry talked about it time after time during the election of 2004.

    8. Tortured innocent people (killing some)...just to force them to say what Bush wanted to hear. It was against the Geneva Convention rules that we agreed to and it is against American moral values to punish people before convicting them of a crime. American criminals are a danger to society...should we start torturing THEM if we suspect that they're hiding information? Unless America is now going to assume that we're guilty BEFORE the trial...

    9. Lied that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and later lied that America found them. Here is what he said...in his own words:

"We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories ... And we'll find more weapons as time goes on. But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them." --Bush lying in Washington, D.C., about finding non-existent WMDs on May 30, 2003

"Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere!" --Bush joking about his administration's failure to find WMDs in Iraq as he narrated a comic slideshow during the Radio & TV Correspondents' Association dinner, Washington, D.C., March 24, 2004

    10. Wasted billions on Iraq & Afghanistan. These billions were the surplus that Clinton left America. Bush also brought back the national debt that Clinton eliminated for the first time in American history. That's a fact.

    11. When gas prices rose, Bush did nothing...except telling Americans that if they couldn't afford the prices then they shouldn't drive.

    12. Republicans insulted our allies by changing "french fries" to "Freedom fries." Bush said nothing.

    13. Threw protesters of Republican war policies in jail. Two women were thrown in a cold jail cell NAKED and accused of trespassing. They were left there all night...while male guards passed back and forth and the women had no furniture to hide behind. In the morning, they were released...and the charges were dropped. I guess they figured the women were humiliated enough to stop protesting, right? As Republicans know (at least I think they know), these types of actions are illegal.

    14. The stock market collapsed because Republicans removed regulations or allowed them to lapse after Eliot Spitzer resigned. He was stupid to go to prostitutes, but he was keeping greedy Wall Street execs in check. Notice how they cheered after he was gone? Notice how they're silent now realizing that his "annoying regulations" were right on the mark?

In contrast, here are some examples of Obama's accomplishments in his FIRST FEW MONTHS in office:

    1. Bailed out the banks. Some banks are even repaying the loans given to them by the government.

    2. Saved a ship captain's life by making a smart decision that defeated the pirates...killing them and taking one prisoner. Everyone thought the captain was going to be dead, right?

    3. Got us out of the recession that Bush got us into.

    4. Saved the economy so that it isn't dropping any further.

    5. Is preparing to fix healthcare...but is being stonewalled by conservative Democrats who are more concerned with how much money we spend (just like Republicans) rather than if the plan is good for Americans. But the government isn't supposed to be like a dragon sitting on top of a pile of money, is it? America was in debt for nearly all of its' existence, right? So why are Republicans and conservative Democrats worried about debt now? Is it because this money is being used to help the people rather than being used to fill up the money bins of these crooks and their corporate friends?

    6. Renewed friendships with our allies that Bush had left in pieces during his oil campaign in Iraq.

    7. Saved some auto companies from collapse.

    8. Sent money to states for schools and colleges. Money that had previously been cut by Bush. Some Republicans with their eye on 2012 rejected it, claiming they needed it to plug the state's budget woes. Really? Where were they when Bush was unplugging all the holes that Clinton fixed? Oh. I guess they didn't care as long as their pockets were filled.

    9. Is going to create new jobs by creating new factories that use new types of energy.

    10. Is preparing to roll back the tax cuts for the elite, the CEOs and the top corporations. These are the ones that received tax cuts from the Bush administration. They are now rich and well off enough to give it back. Other Americans got nothing. It's our turn now.

    11. Gave American soldiers better healthcare and help when they leave the military.

    12. Gave extra funding to the military.

Obama is doing great. I'd say he fixed America in record time ESPECIALLY since he's been on the job for just a few months. If the Republicans and conservative Democrats stop standing in the way of progress, he'll right the ship that Bush sank in no time.

What did George Bush do in his FIRST YEAR in office BEFORE 9/11?

    1. He talked about cutting taxes...then cut them for the big corporate companies and his "oil"y friends.

    2. Tried his best to keep his daughters out of trouble. One twin was constantly dodging the secret service and going into bars while she was under the legal drinking age. In order to do this, she dodged security. She even convinced the good twin to get involved in her foolishness. Like father, like daughter...eh?

    3. Spin around in the Oval Office swivel chair and hope that no one looked in to make sure that he was doing his work.

What did Bush do for Americans who weren't rich? You got it, nothing. Obama is the hero of the story. Bush is the one with his hand outstretched to the middle class. But he has a dagger hidden behind his back...

Ross Perot had a big influence. He definitely took away a lot of conservative votes. But there were other reasons. As Clinton's slogan said, "It's the economy stupid". The economy was in a modest recession, but not really bad. The fall of the Soviet empire probably slowed defense spending, that might have had some effect on the economy. The cellular and internet industries had not taken off yet (and those industries fueled the economy in the Clinton era). There were no cheap Chinese goods to fuel consumerism. And raising taxes does not help the economy. "Read my lips, no new taxes". It doesn't help to get caught in a big lie. Conservatives abhore taxes and that is the Republican base. Bush was way out of touch with what an average American was at the time. He characterized the middle class as earning $200K/year back then. He might have meant that's how much someone who graduated in the middle of his class at Yale law school makes. Who knows? He was out of touch with Joe six pack. Finally, one of the biggest secrets about Bush's loss was that he was soft on communism. As the Soviet Union collapsed, Bush did everything he could to prop up the Gorbachov regime. What do expect from the former director of theCIA? He was going to miss his old buds. As the former Soviet republics declared their independence, the USA was consistently one of the last countries to recognize those new independent states. Refugees from the former Soviet Union that now lived in theUSA were appalled. This was a block that had voted 90% Republican because they viewed the Dems as soft on communism. Bush lost all of these votes. I know, my family is a Soviet refugee family. I voted for Clinton because I hated George Bush for his betrayal.

The economy under Bush was great for the first 7 years.

Congress is the one who spends all the money Bush just signed

the stuff — that was his biggest mistake.

Obama is a total idiot. He has spent more money in the first 6 months that all presidents combined from George Washington through George Bush. What kind of fool does this make him?

Man you need to get some mental help. Your absolutely crazy.

Bush failed at what? Changing the course of history in those 2 countries? Liberated 2 countries from the grip of oppressive regimes? The economy goes in cycles, sometimes up, sometimes down. Obama has shelled out nearly a TRILLION in taxpayer money to the nation. Of course things will seem better. Its like a blast of adrenaline in your system.

Republican have their viewpoint and Democrats have theirs. This is the natural part of our elected government. Not a judgment call on superior ideologies.

it is inherent in all political parties to complain about the other side; this is the nature of politics. It is only when each side puts aside their differences and works toward a common goal that true success can be achieved. We saw it in WWII, and again shortly after 9/11, but sadly, we became divided on the direction the bush administration led us and today we are "reaping" the chaos which bush sowed. Minus the right wing nuts, most americans are behind obama, maybe not politically, but in terms of wanting his measures to succeed, because most understand, if he fails, the country fails and this includes everybody, even the right wing nuts so loud in here.

  • you can't really compare the 2. Bush did have to survive 9/11 something no other president has had to deal with. Obama probably would have made a trip to Afghan the next day to apologize. Plus the economy wasn't that bad during his term, it was only when dems gained control of congress and made it a law that every American should own a house when things went downhill.

Bush failed because of a DEMOCRATIC-controlled Congress and him not standing up to the R.I.N.O.'s in the Party. I don't even need to mention the antics of Barney Frank!!

Let's see what happens next November. Our President will have to talk to Conservatives then!! Good Luck
