    I agree with anna on cooking methods and taste...maybe a cross between the taste of a very fresh pea and the "starchiness" of a lima. I would just add that as far as preparation, after you boil them you can put sea salt on top of them and squeeze lime or lemon juice on them.

    Edamame And Tomato Pasta With Pesto Ingredients: 1 pound ziti 1 package prepared, shelled edamame 3 ripe tomatoes, chopped 1 1/2 tablespoon pesto 1 tablespoon prepared minced garlic 1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste Directions: Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package, drain. Saute edamame in olive oil and garlic for a minute or two to warm. Stir sauteed edamame alond with the oil and garlic into the pasta. Add tomatoes and pesto and toss to combine. Season generously with salt and pepper.

    it tastes...good :P less starchy than a lima bean, well, why don't you just try it?

    do you have fresh edamame? if so, just steam it in salted water. you cannot eat the shell, just squeeze the beans out with your mouth or your hands
