  • Problems moving pictures to USB Stick?

Trying to move a folder of about 2500 pictures taken with an iphone from a Windows XP computer, to a 32GB USB memory stick.

I start to move the pictures over and then after the first couple of hundred pictures the process just stops and won't continue

Is the folder to big to move all at once, or is there something else that might be in play?

  • My Craigslist Dating Ad?

Posted this ad about myself recently on Craigslist, just to see what's out there

    http://chico.craigslist.org/m4w/3231657767.html

however I'm not really getting much of anything in the way of response yet

Are there red flags I need to address better, or am I just being impatient?

  • What would it take for Republicans to reject Reaganomics?

Trickle down, Supply side, Reaganomics, call it whatever you want, but it's at the core of our economic woes as a country and yet it remains the predominent theory that America has been working under since the 1980's.

It's clearly failed us, how do we persuade those that still defend it to abandon this failed economic theory?

  • CPU Usage stays at 100% when web browser is open?

    32 Bit Vista Home Premium

    4GB Ram

Intel Dual Core E2180 Processor @ 2.0 GHz

    Avast Antivirus

    Internet connection via wireless card

I can have everything else that I normally have open and it doesn't seem to matter, and I don't think it's the internet connection in general because I'm still able to download things from iTunes in a reasonable amount of time usually it seems to be connected to having a web browser open.

Also it doesn't seem to matter which one, I can be using a different browser (Firefox/Safari, etc.) doesn't seem to matter, and the same thing happens

It will work well for the first few minutes usually, but after that it will peg the CPU usage at 100% and cause the browser to just freeze constantly, some times it will come back out of it in a relatively short period of time, and other times it just says spinning on itself indefinitely

I don't have a lot of other things open, and I've already run the disk cleanup, updated and ran the antivirus, run the check disk, and other things I could think of but haven't gotten there yet.

The only other thing that seem to possibly factor in, is that one of the other computers in the house, a laptop, tops out at 802.11B, while the rest of the network is 802.11G, I think I can attribute some of this to that laptop slowing the rest of the network down, but I'm thinking there has to be something else as well.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this, and more importantly what I can do about it, are appreciated.

  • Asking Price for Shoes?

Planning putting a pair of these, (size 12), never worn, on my local craigslist for sale, but I'm not sure on how much I could reasonably get for them. I bought them thinking I could squeeze in them, but not so much as I'm a size 13.

The box is in good condition as well

What's a reasonable asking price range?

The pick isn't my actual pair, but it's the same model & color, found the pic online

  • Medical ID Bracelets?

I'm thinking about switching from a "dog-tag" style medical id to a more traditional wrist bracelet form.

My dog tag version has 4 lines and I used all four this way

Line 1 - My Name (first name 5 letters, last name 8 letters)

Line 2 - Type 1 Diabetic (not sure if it makes more sense to put Diabetic or Diabetes there)

Line 3 - Insulin Dependent (not every one knows that some diabetics are only aided by insulin and some don't need it)

Line 4 - No Known Allergies (Knowing that would mean that a medical professional could use whatever medicine they found appropriate and most effective)

The problem I run into is that the wrist ID that I'm thinking about ordering only allows 3 lines and I don't think I could break up the other line so it fit normally on the other 3 available with the number of spaces they allow (20 per line)

So, my basic question is this...which line makes the most sense to cut?

  • Republican Death Panels?

I remember hearing some where during the health care debate that some republicans thought that there was going to be some kind of death panel specifically for them. I was looking for a link stat specifically outlined that to show to someone and I'm having trouble finding a good one.

Anyone have a link to a good source or two that outlines that idea?

  • Tune Up for a 2002 Kia Rio?

Looking for the following information regarding a TuneUP for a 2002 Kia Rio.

    - List of all the services done/parts replaced

    - Place online to view enough of the details to see if it's something I could try to do myself

    - If I take it somewhere to be done, what the approximate charge (parts & labor) is likely to be.

There's a maintenance schedule in the owner's manual I have, but it's no where close to detailed enough regarding some of the other info.

  • Health Care Reform and Politics vs. Solutions?

In a recent poll, it was said that 95% of people believe that some kind of change is needed with the health care system.

Democrats have proposed some changes, whether you happen to like them or not, at least they're moving on the issue.

If it's so clear that the vast majority of people believe that something should change, why aren't republicans either actually working to improve what's been proposed in a honest and meaningful way or made a unique unified proposal of their own with regards to the need to improve health care in this country?

  • Seatbelt Ticket in California?

I got a seatbelt ticket this morning and the cop that pulled me over lead me to believe that those were now considered moving violations, and could be a point on my license.

I had always understood that it was a ticket and went on my record, but not as a moving violation and therefore not as a point on my license.

Which is actually the case? Can you find specific site material that says for sure one way or the other?

  • Bean Soup Recipe Vegetables?

Besides the classics of garlic, onion, carrot & celery, what vegetables do you usually add to a bean soup recipe?

I was thinking about adding some spinach, leeks, and maybe some tomato.

Any adds or removes from that list.

This would be a traditional soup recipe with one of those 15 bean mixes and a ham hock.
