Republican Death Panels?

I remember hearing some where during the health care debate that some republicans thought that there was going to be some kind of death panel specifically for them. I was looking for a link stat specifically outlined that to show to someone and I'm having trouble finding a good one.

Anyone have a link to a good source or two that outlines that idea?

Update:

I know there are no "death panels" but I remember that being one of the things that some republicans said was going to happen if the health care bill past.

Update 2:

What I'm talking about is that there was a variation on the death panel lie that instead of killing old people that it was a way to deny health care to republicans specifically

Update 3:

I know there's no such thing. I was telling someone that this variation existed, and they didn't believe me so I was trying to find a link to show that person that it was one of the lies that was told during the health care debate.

In relation to health care, there are most certainly Death Panels. They are called Insurance Companies.

Anyone who has ever gotten sick and then had their insurance dropped will agree.

While all political parties at times use scare tactics, the Republicans have taken this to a new level. I am not a big supporter of either party, and to build on peoples fears only reinforces my opinion that political parties are as necessary as hemorrhoids and hemorrhoids are easier to get rid of. Throwing out the term "death squads" was such an irresponsible act, conjuring up images of panels of judges dressed up in Inquisition attire deciding the fate of the poor, helpless, innocent sick persons, denying surgeries to the elderly, letting people die to save money was unforgivable, if not effective. The sad thing is that this was decided along party lines without care to us, the consumer. The only death squad specifically for the republicans will be the American people voting them out of office when we wake up and decide we've had enough of the BS from Washington, on both sides, and start making our elected officials responsible for their actions. They have placed themselves above the legislation they have passed for us. Take a look at their health plan and ask why we don't have the same one, or why they aren't on medicare as the rest of us are or will be someday? Why can they retire at full salary after one term? Can you do that at your company? Can you take bribes (political action committees) at your workplace? I suppose you could but you would be prosecuted. Why in all cases involving insurance, do rates go up if you use it? Risk? If they are so afraid of me dying, why do they want my money? The real death squads are those that design the policies for the insurance companies, that eliminate pre-existing conditions, set rates, and get the 1 million dollar bonus at the end of the year. We must change the consciousness of these organizations and the way we do business. On TV, the drug companies are our best friends (except when we have anal leakage as a side effect of the drug), We're in good hands with Allstate (until we file a claim), Geico will save us an annual $450.00 (and so will everybody else) Blue Cross and Blue Shield, well what can I say about them? My premium went up 20% this year and I didn't make my $2500.00 deductible.

Republicans are the least of our worries, at best we know they lie, the same as the other guys. Just depends (Depends adult diapers, I wonder if they are covered by insurance?) on which side of the fence you're on.

    Only my opinion.

This death panel thought is due to the decisions being made by some governments that have the universal, or government heath care systems.

Say for instance, the costly surgical procedure of a heart by-pass comes up on a person maybe in his or her late 80's or 90's. It will then be decided by those in charge if the cost is worth it to keep someone of that age alive, or will they decide the person has lived a good and long life and let them expire.

This is happening on large scale in such countries that have this type of system, hence the name "death panel".

I can see that too many people have no idea what is going on around them, and very few have taken the time to investigate the bill and propaganda associated with it.

No wonder this country is in bad shape.

It might not actually spell that out, but the very potential of something like that occurring is exactly why you don't institute a wholesale takeover of the health care system by a government regime - particularly by a government regime that has shown NO consideration for the rights of The People in any other regard.

I don't believe the term "death panels" was actually used by any Republicans. It was a term coined by Democrats and the media to use against Republican ideas about the health care bill. Republicans claimed that the original health care bill had a government panel that had the power to determine what coverage was available to which group of people. The fear was that this could lead to rationing of health care for seniors as it has in other countries with national health care.

I don't known what you mean. Unless you are talking about the idea of someone is in hospice too long or the idea they are 80 or 90 years old let them die (that thinking is already happening). I will take care of myself and kill myself thank you. I don't want to give any of my money to people that don't give a dam. A good reason for me to be a nurse and learn as much as possible so I don't have to deal with that.

If you've ever had a relative who was treated by the VA Medical system, you'd know that there are already panels that determine whether or not their treatment is worth the cost. Thank God there are still, as of April 2010, private sources of treatment that can be sought outside the free care at the VA.

End of life counseling is optional, Death panels aren't. This fact escapes the publicans.

OMG this is insane....what are you people doing with your time...listening to the liberal left again? There are no death panels. The process in which certain medical procedures are approved or disapproved under this new health care bill was DESCRIBED AS a "death panel" because the bureaucrats on a panel will be deciding who gets what medical procedure when and at what age it is acceptable. Some fear the elderly will get the brunt of the decision making because of their age and low productivity. This has nothing to do with being Democrat or Republican. We will all be at their mercy I am afraid !!
