Can I make a ring tone business legally? I have a great idea.?
I have a fantastic idea for iPhone ring tones, I have years worth of DRM free music I've collected for ages. I can produce amazing ring tones using Sony Audio Forge and publish them on my personal server.
My question, if I make 1,000 HQ iPhone tones and post them on the web, we're talking 30 seconds each; would I get in trouble? I plan on using paypal to request a subscription to a mega library. 30 seconds off a song for a phone, legal? not legal? will apple be pissed? is the RIAA gonna get me? IRS? I dunno what's involved.
But I NEED money. This crap economy is leaving me no choice but to resort to what-if business ideas again.
